Just been down to renault.... asked for a PH1 172 clutch cable... £48 :eek: surely that cant be right, my Ph2 was something like £22-25 :S
Gave me this part no. 8200699727 can any one confirm? He also said throttle cable would be £21...
Would i be better going to GSF? there bits any...
Well today involved pulling it to bits to inspect the bargain, well i was expecting alot to be shite but to my surpise its all pretty good ;) ..
So the best find of today, Dont think the clutch has nout wrong with it :D .. Turned out to be the upper engine mount that was causing the nasty...
Very happy for the money mate :) .... but untill its stripped down & can have a good look around we will see... pannels will all be off tomorrow, then prep for gearbox removal.. can see that being a fun job :dapprove: .. Ben_p's guide looks very good though, handy i dont actually needed it to...
As a few know, I have nearly finished my Ph2 go-kart/track toy & have been looking for a Ph1 172 as a general run around, so was planning to pay around £1,500 but the majority of you guys said you wouldnt get a runner for that money... well here we have it, i belive a true diamond in the ruff...
Just go to renault & say you were doing 70 odd down the motorway & you saw movement, they will put it down to faulty bonnet catch ( noted, replaced free of charge as there was a big case on watch dog ) job done :cool:

Gstar, Jack up the front of the car, remove the 2 torque screws on each splash gaurd & you ca push them off from behind, less than 20mins ;)
