Up to about 60 I found they are roughly the same (two different cars against mine) after that I found the Willy would pull. I'd be wanting a Willy lump, cams the lot tbh. I do agree about the lack of torque.
Dug some out. Proper sh*t heap it was lol !
Apart from the wheels needing a refurb, which I never got round to (they were like that when I go it) It was a very very good example. Excuse the Avon's, awful tyres.
There weren't no, his ones rare as it's an N reg - also if it has factory leather in it it's very rare ! My old 'sh*t one' lol, had factory leather in it, it's nice stuff.
Heaps now though, they mainly rotten away back in the 90's. The Fiesta RS turbo is about a group more than that, they are better, but you'll be looking at very very bad ones for the money, they too will be rotten.
The Clio would be the better bet for the money, your best of driving one tbh.
I don't have pics of the arches & bay etc. I sold the car years ago now.
Yes the low mileage engine was probably a bit knackered. It was quicker with the original 90k engine in it.
It would have won one yeah - if i'd have taken it along to a show, but I didn't, so unless they are going to come round my house with an award, I don't stand much of it getting one.
It was mint, you haven't seen it - you don't know. You can tell me it's crap as much as you like, I don't care...
That's not what I said. I said it was better with the higher mileage engine in it. It was crap with the lower mileage one.
The engine on 90k let go as the oil pressure pump failed on it.
Lol @ it being a nail ! I had it for about three years before it went t*ts up. The car was far from a...
I think it's fair to say that 99% of valvers have had 99% of their parts replaced, so as they have new parts it's fair to compare them.
You are right it wasn't on 5k miles, it was on more than that (90k like I said) & tbh the engine in it was good until it let go, with the lower mileage one...
I had the valver for about four years, ok I didn't track it, but I did a lot more than traffic light GP's. I never even mentioned them, off the line could be anywhere, I didn't say it was on the street.
Take the V6 badge of it !
I think it looked nice how it was, I do appreciate that you've tried something differnt, but I think they looked fine un-touched.
Tbh they aren't fast at all, unless looked after they are not reliable. I agree with Daniel - for every one good one, you'll five heaps. I sold mine years ago & tbh even back then it was very hard to get a good one.
Not in my experience, off the line against a phase 1 172 i'd be level, after...
Tbh for that money, you won't really find a decent one, you might do if you look hard enough though. Most are very old now (last of the line was '96) and lots suffer from rusty arches & sills (plus other bits) What i'm saying is, you'll see more rubbish ones than you will good ones.
