I work full time in the forces so it's fairly easy for me
also a trained mechanic so most repairs/ servicing I do myself with all the workshop tools
biggest cost is insurance really just got to really look around

I would try re bleeding and doing a fair few more miles to bed them in fully

Maybe the pads need to bed in to the surface of the disc ect
how many miles you covered with them fitted

If you are rebuilding ect now is the time to get cams put in ect
as the belts are getting done anyway, better now than deciding to do it later and needing all belts doing again ect
but then it's extra cost to get it running ect
