I assume your talking about the ABS self check? No ABS light on the dash etc?
Just a few ABS noises when you first set off? And if you go over speed bumps a little too quick?
Is it affecting your peddle at all? Fighting your foot back?
That will cause a problem IMO.
No idea why you’d buy used drums, why didn’t you get the new bearing pressed into your own drum? It’s a 5 minute job to take off/refit.
Just jam something under the bonnet lever in the passenger seat, in the full open position. Then go to the bonnet and try and open it then. Happened to me.
Edit: I found a de-icer bottle was big enough to hold the level all the way open, while I went around to the bonnet.
Cheers Roger,
I’m going to try the glow plugs first, as I think they’re still the originals. I think it’s them, as the car doesn’t rough idle or anything to suggest injectors.
Just a little update,
This is the first proper picture I’ve taken of the car. No idea why I even stopped to take the picture! It’s just a DCi...
I feel like my interest in cars is slowly returning and it’s my ‘petrol(diesel) head’ creeping back out, now I’m starting to have more spare time...
I think you’d be better off keeping the Ph2 IMO, with the rust being such a problem now.
If you want a ph1 that much, just put the wings/bumper and headlights onto yours.
That’s what I’d be doing
I don’t think there’s enough content on here to be separating everything.
Plus, I think it’s quite nice to have them all together, easier to skim read and keep up to date on all the recently updated ones.
I’ve ordered some genuine Bosch glow plugs as the slower start first thing in cold (2 to 3 degrees and less) doesn’t seem to have improved with a full tank of redex.
It starts on the button 9/10 times but the cold snaps seem to slow the start. There’s no record I can find on the glow plugs ever...
It is on the higher end on the prices, but it was the only good one I came across with decent mileage. The rest were rattling and knocking going over normal roads, smoking and on average they were all moon miles with leaking sunroofs.
