I cancelled mine a few months in once. Think they took an extra months worth and I got the rest back. Not too bad really. I was more annoyed about losing 4/5 months worth of NCB time. Just ring them and ask.

They do end up looking like that when the red outer casing is smashed.

If it will ease your mind I don't see why you shouldn't get in contact with them. Someone once phoned my dad months after he traded his motor in, to ask what the mileage was when he swapped it (i.e. to check it wasn't clocked).
