Right just borrowed a socket set off JP on here and got to work. Removed the Throttle Body and gave it a good scrubbing with WD40, Kitchen roll and a washing up scouring pad. While at it i removed and did the same with my newly replaced TDC sensor however as expected for a less than 6 month old...
Well im not a mechanic im just going from experience as i have the same issue and this is what i was told by Fred@BTM who diagnosed mine. The problem sounds identical to yours because its fine for the first 10mins then its almost like a switch is flicked and the noise starts (once its warm). We...
If it gets louder as the oil gets warmer (thinner) then its the dephaser pully. Its a belt off job that you probably should have done while you just had the belts off. Its easily overlooked and short of destroying itself the increased noise is all that will happen.
Damnit Da i keep looking at your pics and wishing mine would arrive. 200 cup with Black speedlines and cup spoiler so should the same minus the black side strips. ARGH RENAULT MAKE IT ARRIVE ALREADY!
I said this earlier but i will go into more details.
You can only get 200 Cups in the following:
- Metalic
Nimbus £405 / Alien Green £1225
- Non Metalic
White £155 / Racing Blue £Free / Storm Grey £405
So Daniel you dont need to worry seeing how you cant spec Red anyway without upgrading...
Of course its relevant. Would you create/invest on a track car based on a car which has been knowingly repaired on the cheap? What would that say to you about the quality/promptness of potential maintance on a 10yr old car?
The OP may not be clued up on Ph1 172s and may not have been aware...
^ Addz on a 172 you merely loose the spare wheel well :p
It can be done, but i dont think its cost efficient. The 172s already have a very good MPG for a 2L petrol car to begin with. LPG is only effective on thirsty bigger petrol engined cars really.
Dodgey dash, cloth seats, None sport headlights??
This reaks of being in an accident and repaired on the cheap. Seat airbags probably deployed hence cloth interior, and front end damage hence replacing with cheapo common headlights.
Phfft, You could easily pay the membership if you werent sat buying drinks at The Vernon everytime i drive past on the way to Belper lol.
Tom_90 ive sent you a PM :)
Haha no worries i understand what you mean about that stretch of road, infact that whole part of my journey from QMC roundabout is a ballache. Whats your car lowered on mate? from memory i was impressed.
Come to think of it i dont think dave126 even has a sticker on his 182 either :p
O Hai!
Yup thats me. Was that you yesturday Tom_90 in the 5door with the Pedobear sticker on the back? I looked across and spotted you wearing your sunglasses and gave you a thumbs up but i was blanked (this was going up the hill towards the lights with you in the outside lane and me in the...
... perhaps it is. But my excuse is that if at the end of the 2yrs the private resale value is good enough i can buy it and sell it privately, AC will help it sell :)
Driving to work this morning 14th @ 7:45am and i noticed you behind me, heading down the A52 past the university towards the QMC roundabout.
I did a thumbs up when you were directly behind me in traffic.
Im not a fan of the aftermarket alloys im affraid :nono:
You can probably get it pulled out anyway by the sounds of nothing being out of line. Might be worth asking a bodyshop for a quote for peace of mind :)
wow never seen some of those before. Makes me feel sad to see them watering down the Gordini heritage so much, i wonder how long until Alpine gets the same treatment :/
True i can see what your saying. But go and take a look on Autotrader for 197s regardless of the fact the 200 is out now the 197s are still holding around 10k.
Thats what swayed it for me.
From my post on Page#1:
Do this to prevent having all this trouble 6 months down the line when they stretch and distort. Middle mount is very weak as its just rubber and struggles with the extra weight :)
^ Yeah but Greenlight will include the Boomerang key cover in your policy where as Flux includes sweet FA. Basically if you loose your car key you can get it replaced similiar to those companies that replace/fix broken windscreens.
Why would you go with a company that just tried to stiff you...
^ Im skeptical its the TDC sensor though Shiwarrior.
The TDC sensor if faulty/dirty will stop the car starting, the engine wont turn over. This isnt the case with our issue as the car is turning over and starting but then cutting out due to lack of revs. I also only just replaced this 6 or so...
Used to mate. I now work out of Nottingham (Ruddington) for the same company just in another company we bought out.
It sucks majorly going from 2mins to 40mins but because ive also gone from one extreme it means my distance change is the biggest for the travel allowance :D
Re: clean or replace the TDC sensor ? where is it what does it look like? how do you
I did a guide on this when i replaced mine. It should help :)

Hmmm hate to be negative but i wouldnt hold your breath. Mine was originally estimated for the same date but its been pushed back by 2 weeks and from what ive heard all 200s due around that time have been.
I personally wouldnt Tom. Its a big commitment and if your unsure i wouldnt tie...
