Got my alarm fixed under warranty today!! There is a yellow wire which feeds into a multi-plug. The wire that feeds the yellow wire doesnt cut the power quick enough and confuses the computer which, in turn, tells the alarm system that there is a problem which creates it to emit three beeps...
Hi Mark, like Tom said theres a fair bit of discussion on this. I put mine (with cup pack) along side a standard one at my dealer and it appeared to be noticeably lower. Oddly enough more than 3mm. I was a bit sceptical about the height before, but not any more!:)
Floodie, are you sure there werent 4 beeps? As you were messin about turning the ignition on and off, you probably dis-armed the ultra sonics inside, that bleeps 4 times. It then resets itself next time you arm the alarm.
Got my car boked in at the dealer for the warrantee work on the alarm on...
Success!!! Heard from my dealer today. Theyve been in touch with Cobra, and they recognise there IS a fault with the alarm. So i need to book in at my dealer for a bit of warranty work. Will let let you all know how i get on in a few days.
Shaun.
So, can i get an idea of how many people are , or have experianced this problem with their alarms. Or better still, anyone whose had theirs fixed! Would like to take it further with Renault. Some idea of how many cars are effected would be great. Thanx..
Hmmm... well its deffinately the doors not being closed properly, and like i said, it doesnt seem to be if i arm it too soon after closing the doors. Have tried the waiting game, and arming it quickly. Theres just no pattern. Thanks for all your replies so far tho!
Is any one on here still experiencing the three beep thing with their alarm? Not convinced the reason is about arming it to soon after closing the doors. Took mine to the dealer today for their thoughts on the matter. Technician is getting in contact with Cobra. Any feed-back from people on here...
Untill very recently i had one of these. I beleive only 172 were imported into the UK. They have some in France too im told, 172 probably. They didnt come wiyh a "sports handling pack" from new tho. Ive seen an 02 reg one in London, according to a local Renault dealer to me there were a few left...
SCRIBBLER.... Where are you based? Ive seen an 02 reg in Hammersmith and think the same one heading toward Hsmith from Clapham direction a few weeks ago.
I also had this "wind noise" from my 182 on the way up to FCS04. Checked it out, but couldnt find anything obvious. Not noticed it again since. It sounded like it was coming from the top corner of the near side edge of the windscreen, that kinda area. Noise wasnt constant, so difficult to tell.
Nice one Dave, but how up to date is that? I think youre right about the wider track, but maybe it was that that Renault abandoned in favour of the Exalto 2s?
Dave,
Thats what my dealer said at the time i ordered it. Then they said Renault had changed their minds and just up rated the tyres instead. Am i wrong?
Dont know that it actually is any lower. Im lead to beleive by my dealer theyre not, Renault left the ride height the same and put on the Exalto 2 tyres instead. Someone on hear must know for sure!!??
Thinking of lowering my 182 with cup pack a little. Dont wana slam it, just make the wheels fill the arches a bit more. Would be interested in hearing anyones opinion on it
Cheers, Shaun
