Hi,
Just noticed this mess any ideas what route cause could be or steps to diagnose, is it anything to be concerned about?
I had a split driveshaft boot a while ago, wonder if it could be mess left from that?
Appreciate any thoughts
@chip - ill take a look... Would my friends at Renault not have reported that the castor was not the same on either side when doing the alignment... All try said was that it was different from standard
@hilldawg - not really sure where I can take it locally other than Renault, had some poor service from general garages. going to specialists like BTM / KTEC would mean taking a day off everytime the car needs stuff done (which atm seems to be a lot...) I have been to both I the past tho when I...
No noises, it pulls even when cruising, if I was at 60 on straight motorway with cruise control on it would slowly start to move right and then if you leave it pick up more right angle... It's not severe and you can easily keep it straight by counter steering slightly
No steering wobble, no...
Ok, do you think I should go back to them with these suggestions and ask them to double check? With the bushes is it something they will be able to see or should I ask them to replace as precaution?
I'm driving it a fair distance this weekend (le man) should it be OK? Renault said it is...
Hard enough to need the lower arm and ball joint replacing as they were bent, not so hard that anything snapped or other parts damaged... I hit it with alloy side on to the curb (and bounced off it - was on ice at between 5-10 mph at a guess)
not sure if that makes it any clearer? It was...
Hi, my clio 182 has developed an issue where it pulls to the right, if I don't hold the steering tight it will start to slowly drift right, then if you leave it longer it angle of right turn will increase.
I took it to renault, nothing noticeable wrong mechanically so they did full wheel...
182 not 172 but this is the dyno I got from my remap (already had scorpion exhaust). I think it feels smoother and a bit quicker, mainly at lower revs I notice, it's not a massive difference by any means tho...
I'm going 20th coming back Monday, driving out in a mini convey with a t350 and f430... so my little clio will fit right in lol
Thinking I might sticker up for the occasion too!
Re: my silver clio 182 - remapped
So went to ktec Monday for 72000 service and also to have a panel filter and remap. Few issues came up from the service so heading back shortly to have a bit more work done in the way of a new drive shaft, cat leak sorted and exhaust hangers fixed. Pretty...
So had a bit of a nightmare over winter with all the ice etc. I basically hit a curb at low speed, the wheel was completely side on and even though it was a very minor thing, it managed to do a bit of damage. I've had the ball joint and lower arm replaced as a direct result, but also it was...
Late reply but it's a silver 182, got speedlines in anthracite... So basically it looks like every other silver 182 on the planet lol. I live near the pepper pot, I see ur car outside tesco fairly regularly
So car got lowered today so thought I'd post a few new pics, its also had brembo high carbon discs and ferodo pads fitted since i last updated. Sailed through MOT with no advisories a couple of weeks ago, but I had a service around February time so no big surprise... (service included 4 new...
So turns out it was the rear bearings again... Garage said it was a faulty part and manufacturer covered cost of new part and labour so sorted for free.
Thanks, just going to have to nurse it back from Manchester and then take it to a garage. Just thought it might be something obvious so I would know whether it's ok to drive or not.
Cheer Matt
Hi,
The Clio started making a low pitched whinning noise on the motorway about a week ago, if you imagine something kind of similar to rear bearings but sounds like it's coming from the front. The noise was only happening over approx 60 mph originally.
However yesterday I drove to...
I have Cambridge audio topaz am5 and gale speakers, cost about 290 in total around 2 years ago and really enjoyed them. Purchased from richer sounds who demo'd a range of speakers and amps for me at different price points so I could make an informed decision, in the end I went budget but they...
