    strip and check oil pump, pressure relief valve sticking is common on them. i'm guessing that that's no2 big end bearing? you'll probably find no3 main hasn't moved but may well be mullered anyway.

    There is a cracking campsite on the coast just by the end of the road where it joins the coast road. Sometimes get stuff giving it beans when it passes over. Lake Windermere is also a good one for low flying stuff, last summer must of been best part of 20 flew over and most not hanging around...

    Think everything is in the factory manual? Can download it easy enough. If not though you're just working to 'normal clearances etc. With ring gaps majority of the time I've found they are pretty much ok out of the box but obviously that can vary from make to make and also bore wear.

    just waiting for the head to be done, should have it back this weekend and then panic for a day and a bit to throw everything together and back in the car, wouldn't be bad apart from just about everything has been painted so no bumping or scratching anything ?

    seen a few that have lost the tube in the end cap or been rebuilt and the plastic drip tray is broken or missing. either way 5th generally the first thing to take a hit, plastic wears on the fork and gets worse from there. that's not your old one, but i sent the pic to niall to show what they...

    depends why it's gone though, normally it's from low oil but on a 'reconditioned' box it shouldn't go in the first place.
