Re: My 79 Mk1 Scirocco.... Got low
Good job on the G40 turbo! My friends done about 5+ turbo conversions to the G40 engine, he's currently building a rather nice conversion with a rare german tubular manfiold and K04/s turbo. :) Bloody quick even on basic conversions!
Hi there Pete, didn't see that anyone had posted in here since last time I did!
With the 2118's on as well as half a tank of fuel (20kg) and 10kg's worth of bits in the car it weighed in at 920kg. I do have further plans ahead like cutting the inside of the bootskin out, cutting all bracketry...
I'd like to see the differences between a set of 428's and 421's in terms of power/torque delivery on a standard manifold, something i'll possibly considering within the next 4 months or so.
Sorry I couldnt make this, wanted to but had a few problems I encountered when just doing a simple disk/pad change which took a couple more hours to fix!
Will try to get there next time one of these is arranged.
Nick
Just a few pictures taken from my brother whos starting to get into photography. Not bad pictures, some of these came out better than the hired photographers that were at the track!

Talented, you just cant teach it ;)
The delay isn't too bad in my Cup though there is a difference between that and cable throttle! Funnily enough I find the works van (transit) easier to heel-toe than the Cup!
You cant heel-toe with standard pedals? Amatuer ;)
I have some aftermarket Sparco pedals in my car, there not any bigger than standard though. Think James @ JMS tinkered with his standard pedals to allow an easier heel-toe, best giving him a shout! :)
Looks cool! Lower it a bit more and make the wheels the only red thing and it'll look pretty dam nice! The mirror covers and front badge just look a little tacky!
Great for a runaround though!
Repaint with a few bodywork modifications(still keeping the widearch itself as its pretty much a S1600 kit), sell interior, wheels and engine.
Fit powerful N/A engine and new suspension and drive it!
Good day, cheers for Jon (Saner) for arranging it!
Happy with my 195.5bhp and 162lbft of torque!
Gower your cars a freak, must of had some serious work done to it to get them figures on a low reading RR with a standard manifold! Also Pete your R27 was unbelievable making 208.8bhp with just...
Very true, you'll probably annoy quite a lot of the high powered Audi drivers as they only enjoy going fast on the straights on trackdays ;) And you'll be pushing them along!
