as above. According to some on this forum it's been shown that the 172 throttle body is not a restriction on the system.
If you've got £120 odd quid to spend, get matched inlets from GDI or angelworks.
This is excellent stuff.
It explains that turbos create high pressures in exhaust manifold due to the restriction they make. This can increase the exhuast pressures so much that when the exhaust valve and valve cam are open at the same time (valve overlap - NA cams will have this) there is back...
yeah it's reliable. I spose the worst you could do is blow the turbo, but you can do that with enough miles and standard boost too. I have a spare K03 if you want it. I was only going to set aside an afternoon to weld it to my lawn mower
that orange scoob looks like AIDS
edit:can we make it a rule for this thread that when Quoting people delete the photos. Just takes up space.
......erm for the whole forum actually.
as below. Sure fire bad AIDS
OP - omex (600iirc) is pretty much the same price as emerald. Ring omex direct or speak to GDI and ask for a just ECU price (or one with a self assembly loom)
Icarus - just one acronym too many there for me! - AS bulk head connectors? More info/links please.
20 kit cars is far more experience than i've got, so i don't think i can be much help tbh. I think you'll be fine. Also consider OMEX management. The support is very good, especially for clios.
the above is sound advice IMO
If your interested in future upgrades (NA or forced induction) then it may be worth it, but as said, you'll be hard pushed to achieve similar driveability and reliability - especially if you choose to make the loom yourself.
Maybe better to save the cash and upgrade...

Remember the first thing is said to get for a track valver:rasp:
Used to run 5W50 on mine, but decided it wasn't necessary after a while.
But seriously mate, If the gauge is reading correctly, 150 is too warm. Unlucky mate, hope you get it sorted quick n...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
I don;t get why a diesel box would be geared shorter? They are normally longer? diesels running at slower speeds an all.
