How can you be competitive on lean mode though? i drop down to it on occasions when it says '-1 laps fuel' ....the AI cars blast past me on straights!
Regarding the tyre wear - i change the tyre strategy before the race, change one of the option tyres to prime - so im on slower tyres than the AI...
Just got a great 7th at Monza...Hulkenberg got 5th hehe. Di resta was doing well in 6th but he spun out!
I like how the results change every race - Alonso the championship leader really struggled in this,he only managed 6th!
Yeah he is - wouldnt surprise me if he got a podium soon. I had the 3 germans of Rosberg,Vetell & Hulkenberg hounding me on the back straight of Spa every lap hehe - great seeing the AI defending their line like me aswell. I cant really pick fault with this game, apart from the excessive tyre...
Just got a great battling 8th at Spa - i was under intense pressure from Rosberg for most of the race, but held him off....my TM Hulkenberg spun out early on but came back well, nearly got a point but finished in 11th. Its much better in a team with a fast Teammate.
My first points since my 8th...
Well once again at Hungary, the tyre wear is ridiciulous - had to make an extra 4th stop,so it cost me a top 10 place as i was around 8th. Really finding Expert a challenge, average finish is 16th. But ive just had a contract offer from Sauber half way through the season so took it straight away...
Back on this now after a couple of months on GT6 - what a place to start - Monaco in the wet! This makes GT6 feels sedate lol - safe to say i really struggled,Q20th and finished that in the race aswell, after being lapped numorous times.
Hamilton & Rosberg didnt even do a lap of Qualifying,so...
Im starting to think it was coming from another car now as it hasnt done it since and it was in the garage yesterday and had a check over. I had both belts changed, dephaser pulley, water pump replaced, filters, oil and also a resistor replaced which finally got all my fan blowers working again...
So i was driving home from work and was decellerating, when my car starts making a really weird screeching/grinding noise, almost like a train stopping - it was so loud people were looking at me. It went on for a few minutes, then stopped for about 10 minutes, then when at a total standstill it...
Well ive booked it in 2 weeks from now,for both belts & dephaser.
Does anyone know what you actually get in the 2nd belt change service? Do they check all the oil, filters etc. as in a normal service?
Thanks for the comments...yeah il probably go ahead with the belt change and hope she lasts another couple of years! I agree theres not much out there in terms of bang for your buck..such a great car to drive.
A quick question....is the heater fans or demister part of an MOT and can it fail if...
yeah i know you can generally run these things into the ground, just worried if anything else crops up after the belt change due to the age of the car. Think i will feel much better when i get the actual belts sorted and the engine sounds a lot better than it does now!
Full belt service plus dephaser pulley at a specialist in doncaster. Its a fair price tbf...the pulley really needs replacing as my engine sounds well rough, like a diesel..
So my 182 is 10 years old in march,on 87k miles and its coming up to its 2nd belt change...im just considering selling it for a couple of grand now,or pay 600 quid to get belts and dephaser done...obviously if i do that im really hoping it can run for a few more years as its such a fun car to...
People can say all they want about this game...but theres not many better feelings in a racing game than driving on the nurburgring in the afternoon sun in a decent car in GT6 imo...they have the course spot on now and it looks stunning with the improved lighting...god only knows what GT7 on PS4...
Its on PS4 aswell. Probably one of the first games im looking forward to on the next gen, after watching a few video. The damage and all that debris looks immense - no slowdown either with 20 something cars involved.
Id never give anything 10/10,be it game or movie,as nothing is 'perfect' imo....but some games from recent years i would give a very rare 9/10 would be Half Life 2,Bioshock & GTA V.
I could write quite a big list of my fave games hehe - all had different impacts on me throughout the years.
I got this last week and loving it,its just a more refined version of GT5,the improved physics make it more fun to play, and the lighting effects have been improved - some of the replays and cars really are stunning for the PS3,and pushing it to the max. I did the £20M cheat just to get some of...
I got a very decent 8th at Bahrain - but struggled like i always do at Catalunya, race started wet but gradually dried until everyone went on Primes - i was up to 10th in the first stint, with TM Maldonado in 9th,but we both had slow pace compared to the Saubers & Force Indias, and i finished 15th...
Taken from Gamesradar review (which gave it 9/10) :
''However, the AI is not better at all. The AI drivers do kick up some dirt as they venture off-line and there is a modicum of defensive driving exhibited by the leaders, but they’re still faceless and robotic. The oddest problem with their...
Id say its more positive than negative - its near an average of 8. I suppose if your a big fan of the GT games then its a must buy. As i said, talk of improvements to the AI is the main thing for me,as the racing was just so boring in GT5. I view it as driving game more than a racer,i hope that...
Might get this in the new year, watching that first hour gameplay vid - they put you in a Clio RS straight away for the training - good choice hehe! The improvements in the AI and physics in-race are encouraging for me.
Looking at this compared to Forza 5 makes me think there isnt much of a leap...
I got a disappointing 14th at China - was battling for 9th/10th in the first stint but had a couple of slow in/out laps for my stops aand lost ground. Enjoying the expert difficulty though.
So,different difficulty, same result - another 5th at my 2nd race! Managed to go from 10th to to the top 3 in the early part of the race - Webber had the win sown up already, with around a 30 second lead - but a safety car half way through ruined it for him - he took a late pit stop and ended up...
Into my 2nd race with Williams and ive changed it to Expert AI as i was 1st after Q2,by about 0.5 second, which is just not realistic.
Expert in Q3 - and im 10th,3 seconds off pole position lol.
