Photography on the net (POTN) but it is mostly a Canon forum.
It also has a large client base that also frequent Mac rumours, in that the same retarded questions and attention seeking posts pop up three to four times a day. If you are just after some advise or feedback, it's a good place to...
I've just scored an old C2D small form PC from work and want to use it as a server at home for backups/ DLNA at home, and also to be able to remotely access the network from outside of the house.
Whats the best option? 2008 R2 or WHS 2011?
Any decent addins that I should look into?
This.
It's not cheating at all. Post processing has been around for as long as photography has. It's just more accessible now as it's all done on a computer rather than in a dark room.
1.2 has slower AF but that shouldn't be too much of a problem at a wedding. It an amazing lump of glass though. I bought the 1.8 as I really couldn't justify the extra cost for the red stripe.
The 1.8 is a good lens, but the 1.2 will have better colour & contrast (and looks immense).
I wondered about this recently. Does Apple have a budget to hire in Students/ jobless people to live outside their shops for stuff like this, or are people really this sad? The Amsterdam Apple store (first one in NL) opened a week or so ago, and there was a couple of people camping outside it...
iPhone4 and onwards you can use the native tethering if it is enabled by your provider. If it isn't, then you can activate with a Jailbreak app (teatherme etc). There was an app in the appstore that allowed you to do it, but Apple removed it fairly quickly.
I bought a £3 cassette tape case for the iPhone as it looked cool in the photos. That included postage from Hong Kong.
It was just as s**t as could be expected but gave the kids something to play with. They don't even know what a cassette is!
Switch the tv as the main screen in the settings rather than an extended desktop?
I just remembered that I had a problem with my laptop on the TV screen once and it was due to a dodgy cable. It worked on a monitor, but not the TV. Might be worth trying that if nothing else works.
It could be due to the resolution that the laptop is trying to use on the TV. Try running the TV as the only screen with a forced 1920x1080 (assuming your TV is full HD).
Re reading my post, it sounds a bit too negative. For a compact, it's just as good/ better than any others I have used. Great zoom range, nice to hold and quick to respond. I am just being fussy TBH, which is easy when it's not your own camera.
Work has the TZ20 and I have used it a couple of times for both video and stills. I wasn't blown away with the picture quality as there are visible jpg artefacts in most shots and noise handling at higher ISO is not great. I've only had to use it indoors so not an optimal environment. They...
If I was going to go for a 27" it would need to be high res (2560x) and an IPS panel, which puts them firmly into the territory of buying an iMac instead of just the screen.
I've got dual 24" (1920x1200) and the second screen stays off most of the time. I've only got the second one as I needed...
I installed Win8 on VMWare but it doesn't recognise react to my touch screen properly which makes it a pretty crappy experience.
I can't help but think that the who environment would be better off like the Media Centre in Windows 7, in that it is hidden away until you start it, rather than...
