I don't think that as many MkII owners will jump to a MkIII as they did from the classic to the 5DII. The price difference is just too much.
The 5D body used to be aimed at the pro, but could be justified by a hobbiest. Most people who won't earn on their shots would struggle to justify 3K on...
I got a new tablet laptop from work a couple of weeks ago so am quite curious to know how usable this is with it. Win 7 on a touch screen is no different than RDP on the iPad, but with less click accuracy and gestures.
I'll see if I can find a spare 2.5" HDD to play with this week.
I was ready to be dismissive because 41mp on a sensor the size of a pea should result in terrible quality, but it doesn't look that way. Odd that no camera manufacturers are using this tech TBH. I'll wait for some real world samples.
I am a new Thinktank convert. I needed a new shoulder bag as my Domke was too small for the camera with the 70-200 mounted, so I picked up a Thinktank Retrospective 30. They have various sizes, and the 30 is one of the larger ones, but their quality is superb. They have even thought about being...
I just spotted that the photos only have to be taken in Feb. By the time this comp was published, all our snow and ice had melted, but I did grab a snap that I liked just prior but still in February.

Re: iPad 2 won't play videos(YouTube)
I've had the same with the embedded ones on here, but no problems with the YouTube app. Turn it off and on again?
Lightroom is definitely one of the best applications for Windows. Download the free trial from the Adobe website and give it a go to see if you like it first.
Lightroom3 is in the sale in most places at the minute too as LR4 is due soon. If you are interested in doing Video work, it might be...
I don't know if the xxxD range has changed, but I never needed a 2nd battery when I had my 350D and have done entire days shooting with 5-600+ photos with my 5DII and there was still plenty of power left. Unless you won't be near a power socket for days, or need to film/ use live view for an...
Nice choice! The 24-70 f2.8 or 24-105 f4 IS are the two main contenders for lenses. It depends on whether you need the reach and IS more than half a stop. The 24-70 is in the process of being replaced with a MKII so the should be plenty of bargains to be had in the second hand market soon if the...
I've just been given a new fancy HP laptop from work with integrated Intel graphics and it plays quite a few games on medium settings with native resolution and a decentish frame rate. Not brilliant, but you shouldn't write it off.
It's just a 3.5mm audio jack. I recently tried to do the same fix, but gave up after the headphones broke for a third time. There are four wires inside the cable, all of which are pretty thin. You can either cut the jack off an old set of headphones and solder the wires together, wrapping each...
You could do it with an RCA to 3.5mm jack fed into the mic input of your PC. You would have to play with sound levels to minimise distortion, then you can use any number of free apps to record the input as an MP3.
There are also various USB tape and record decks that can be used, but they'll...
I had a similar problem and it was caused by my router. I couldn't fix it, so took the router back and got a different model. The problem never came back.
Most has already been mentioned, but a caribener is pretty handy to have in your bag, or on a strap. It means that you can hook the bag onto a fence or something off wet ground if you don't fancy keeping it on your shoulder/ back during a shoot.
For people getting pissed off with rapidshare download speeds.. are you using the Rapidshare tool for downloading? I just tried the flashgot plugin in firefox and got my normal 8-10MB/s download per file, whereas the RS downloader was only allowing 1-1.5MB/s. It looks like their software is...
