    Points on Licence

So what was the SP30 for and what was the SP60 for? I have never understood the difference between those two? Its BS really the insurance charging you that much as they know everyone with that type of car drives the same way but you were just unlucky enough to get caught. If anything you will...

    Points on Licence

I messed around on tesco insurance once working out how much 3 points for getting caught by a red light camera would cost me. It would have put my insurance up from what was then £400 to £450 so not really that much but obviously as a percentage if you are paying £800 thats gonna put it up to £900.

    Its just not fast anymore...

Yeah you need to try a smaller car to remind you.... Also hammering down dual carriageways doesnt really give you the best impression of speed. I am quite used to mine now so it feels slow in that scenario but it still feels lethally quick on a lane.

    2ltr owners petrol consumption

43 is really pushing it. If I fill up, reset the counter and go up and down the ring road for an hour at about 50 just feathering the thottle I can just about scrape that. How you did it for 1500 miles is beyond me! I am pretty good at frugile driving too, I managed to get 65mpg over a whole...

    New 182 better than a type r

I remember when I went in a CTR for the first time. I drove to the pub in my 182 to meet my mate who had just bought one. I got in the passenger side and he pulled out onto the ring road and floored it. For some reason I was expecting it to go like a rocket as I had heard so much about them...

    New 182 better than a type r

Did the CTR really blow the 172 away in a straight line? Only I find my mates 45k CTR is level with my 5k 182 all the way but I havent raced a 172 so I dunno how quick they are. Many 172 owners find the 182 slow though when going from a run-in 172 to a tight new 182. That doesnt make sense.

Inferno Cup is for me the choice version.

Flame red 172 and Arctic 182 Bristol

I wonder if that was the red 172 my Suzuki Swift mate owned the other day. Was it an asian lad driving?

    New 182 better than a type r

The Civics do actually look a bit dodgy inside, in particular the insides of the doors look really cheap. Id still buy the Civic if both cars were the same price but this interior materials issue is over played and over exaggerated.

    INSURANCE BEWARE

My neighbour just bought a 1000 mile pre reg Cup for £11500 from a not so local dealer. SJ Cooks in Bristol sold me neighbour a shagged year old, 10k full 182 with Cup packs for about £13k so..... If SJ Cooks had nicked your car it would be on the forecourt for a few hundred notes less than...

tyre pressures - 182 with cup packs

I am running 34 and 31 cos I pumped them up in colder weather so they have gone up on their own! No problems with handling and the wear rate is good - at 5k they are like new.

And I though Jap cars are reliable

Where can you get it for £15995? I looked on all the online brokers but couldnt get more than a monkey off list.

And I though Jap cars are reliable

Dont buy into this "its designed to be driven hard" nonsense either. The car is designed to be more powerful than a standard car at the cost of durability. This is always the way with performance cars especially if you fully utilise the performance. If you go out and buy a lazy 2 litre...

And I though Jap cars are reliable

An old work mate of mine blew the engine in a CTR. Who knows the truth behind it though. Maybe he ragged it non stop, maybe he didnt change the oil as often as he should, maybe he did lots of short journeys and got condense in the oil. Maybe he chipped the car, fitted an induction kit and...

    Hi Res Trophy pictures

I bet they are laughing and saying whod buy that cheap crap. Or probably moaning because Webber, Montoya & Schumacher etc get given decent motors to drive around in. Id love to buy a set of those wheels though....

    182 Broken AGAIN!!

I am surprised a wheel bearing last that long if the car had been tracked on a regular basis. Very impressive durability.

    182 Clio Spot lights

You must be joking. If they rebadge the Type-S as a Type-R that will be the biggest travesty ever. This sounds like a cheap con to increase their prices by fiddling with the badges. £20k is pushing their luck to be honest. Thats WRX territory and a few k more than an LCR even though it is...

    182 Clio Spot lights

Yeah I am waiting for 2007 and the new CTR. My current car is out of warranty that October and will be going. Annoying though cos people are saying new CTR will be late 07...... This is a mega problem cos I wanna see plenty of reviews and track tests before I choose between new CTR and new...

    182 deals ... not

My bro went to buy a 1.2 Clio and they wouldnt even knock £50 off the price which is a piss take given that its a prehistoric design and poorly built. My bro pointed that out and the salesman said he couldnt argue about that point but still wouldnt knock a penny off! My bro then went to Toyota...

    Silver 172 Bristol

Seen this car a few times now and last saw it Friday going down the ring road under the M32 and through the Hambrook lights. Seems to make a point of coming up close behind me.

    Dealer will not budge

I had this with SJ Cooks in Bristol. They had the bare faced cheek to offer me an ex demo for more than I was telling them I could get a new one!!!!!!!! The simple solution is to do what I did and buy it from the place where you could get it for £13k! I had to wait 4 months but it was worth...

    Clio Neighbours

Yeah we live in Bristol. Those stripes on the front are what he just fitted in ten minutes last night. He has a 250 metre or something roll of the stuff and just quickly stuck those on to see what it was like. You will notice the stripes are only on the bonnet. It was just a test so they arent...

    Clio Neighbours

As I said last time I am expecting to hear anytime now that he is no longer with us or seriously injured so I am pretty apprehensive. His old man sounded worried too and was telling him to stick to 70 when we were washing our cars. He basically drives that car at eleven tenths 100% of the time...

    Clio Neighbours

First one was on finance but he returned it within a certain period (he only had the car a week at most) and also argued about it because there was a load of stuff wrong with it. So they gave him his px back and he walked away having just had a weeks free test drive on a 182! He has the new...

    Thinking of buying a 182

I have had a couple of problems, one was fixed by myself thanks to this forum - a knocking engine mount that is dead easy to fix. The other the dealer failed to fix but thanks to this forum I know it is not really a problem - occassionally the emissions light comes on for a day, usually after...
