Having another think yes I'd say it's the leads and or Plugs, get a circuit tester on the leads first.
If it smells rich this could be due to having a weaker spark and loading more fuel it will not burn properly, an easy cheap fix.
Yes, it's bit of a Min*E ache but get a circuit tester, take the leads off and check them, sounds like they are on their way out, as they are not static movements / heat and the like can alter their conductivity when they go.
Have you done the leads before?
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
Think he was after reassurance that it would be fine for a bit whilst he saves up the benefit payments to cover the job.
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
Here we go guys, how about a challenge?
Anyone who is in need of a transplant we have a pro who can do the whole job in 2hrs or less. So if anyone needs this doing PM the guy pay him £100 for the job ( 2hrs labor ) and we can check this validity out.
If he...
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
I'd love to see you get an engine, fit it within a 2 hours, get it running correctly, not to mention all the oil and other bits all in for £400??
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
LOL Let's see that dealer back it up when it snaps and they offer to cover the cost on their own advice being wrong? you'll be left high and dry and broke, not to mention in tears. for the sake of £400 all in it's just much cheaper and less hassle. Amazing...
Not sure if I missed something with these but mine peeled off as they all do but a bit of Gorilla glue ( made from real Gorillas ) later and they stuck back down perfectly.
There should only be one wire free for this, generally a blue one on Sony, Alpine and Pioneer units anyway, it should have a round metal thing on the end of it or a bit of tape and it's very thin compared to the other wires, but as i've said there is generally only one free wire anyway, if there...
I've checked my local Renault independent and they said exchange job is £120 ( lowe actual Ren prices, £600 is a joke ) 2hr job. if you need to the mount do it at the same time as this and wont cost extra.
the Engine doesn't need to come out, just the slam panel, bumper and the mount........and...
Wouldn't buy a new one for that kind of wedge, I had one go last year on my old CTR and cost me £50 to get it repaired, never had a problem with it for the reaming 9 months of owning it.
I reckon on a nice day with adequate tools your average bodger would manage to change without any major...
yYou need to take the wheel off, just behind the disc is a ribbed conical shaped thing right behind it.
Check if it's attached. It can be bad if it's not as grease comes out and the joint wears.
West Drayton Salvage is a gold mine for these items. it's right next to a DVLA impound as well so they get all the good stuff, they even have all top end seizures in there too. and a sign on the entrance that says " thieves will be dealt with" and you get searched on the way in and out lol

Yes they like to Kangaroo when cold, goes away after 5 mins but don't mace it until like 15 mins later.
Yes it needs to be ragged all the way to the limiter to get the 0-60 time, 60 is practically on 7200RPM in 2ND gear.
The rear shocks could be shagged, mine were and wasn't nice...
Wouldn't bother with a Golf, unless you put TT alloys on it, a 20" sub in the boot with 1000W mono Amp, Baileys trumpet dump valve and lowered 10CM all around, seat all the way back and whilst driving along address everyone as "BruuuuuuuuuuuuuuV" I wouldn't bother.
That's all a Golf is good for...
I think I will have it, it was so hard to not sell them all on via here or ebay as could have made a fair few quid off these, but wanted these seats for soooooooooooooooooooooo long I even filled the car all the way up and went for an extra long drive in them yesterday.
Went down the Breakers on Sunday for some Corsa C Bits, whilst screwing over getting the radiator out of a 1.2 Corsa I stopped for a cigarette and I saw in the distance was a 172 smashed to pieces.
I walked over and looked inside......... Some MINT Trophy Recaros, £150 later they were all mine...

I've got a dog bone mount with the powerflex bush just boyed it off for months as really cba to do it, was told it stops gear stick flapping like a mk1 clio. I'll give that a go and see what happens.
If not im...
Nothing knocks to point to a mount, done all the tests I could possibly find listed on here.
Given they are quite strong is there a way to check if i go through the hassle of taking them off to inspect? besides the rot they will no doubt be covered in what can I look for?
I thought that but all other gears are fine, if you drop to 1st from 2nd and kill it it doesn't happen, only when carrying the weight of the car from a standstill. clutch bearing sounds like a spaceship also ( only way I can describe it, Simpsons style flying saucer )
