    Billet jc5 selector forks.

Why? You don't even bother to fit new clutches when it's sensible to do so

    Clutches LUK vs Valeo

I need a clutch for my 172 Cup and I need help deciding which to buy Is there any reason not to buy an LUK over a Valeo item? Only asking as through a combination of discount codes, Nectar points and special offers with Paypal credit etc, I can get an LUK kit for £82 compared to £122 for a...

    Oil consumption on f7p

It's either leaking or burning it or a combination of the 2. F7's do tend to use a bit of oil anyway but that sort of consumption is a bit excessive, valve stem seals or valve guides being worn is a common cause of burning the oil excessively, there's also the possibility of worn piston rings...

Recommendations for dry fast road tyres?

Probably the previous owners personal preference or likely to be price variation between the sizes. Last time I was shopping for tyres for my 172 Cup there was quite a bit of variation in prices between the profile sizes, I vaguely remember that there was 1 size of PS3 that was cheaper than the...

Recommendations for dry fast road tyres?

Absolutely not, I've ran both tyres for a couple of years each on my 172 Cup, on road and track through all seasons & can confidently say there's sod all difference between them imo. The only instances I'd choose the PS3's is if they're cheaper than the Avons which is certainly the case in 195...

    Clio 172, Misfire.... Help?

I've just seen the date of the OP & realised I was replying to the wrong person 🫣 :ROFLMAO: Another common cause of misfires is dodgy injectors, swapping them round to see if the misfire moves with it and measuring the resistance of them is the way to test them, should be 14 ohms iirc

    Clio 172, Misfire.... Help?

Is it misfiring under load? Do a compression test & see if it's actually healthy

Anyone tried 106 GTi rear calipers?

That handbrake arm looks like it is exactly the same as what's on the Mk1 Clio and I've got Mk1 calipers fitted to my 172 Cup, just makes the handbrake lever feel a little bit tighter is all

What accessories/goodies did a 172 Cup from come with from new?

As far as I've heard, the 172 Cups came with nothing, the spare steel wheel, tool kit, mats were all optional extras just like the air con

    Mystery decat pipes

I think I may have an idea what the long pipe is. It looks similar to this from a 182

    Mystery decat pipes

I've acquired a couple of decat pipes from a job lot of bits but could do with some help to identify them. 1st off is this possible cup racer decat pipe - only say that because that's what's written on it in marker pen 😂 Then I've got this which I thought might be a 182 manifold link pipe...

Another Mk1 coming out of the woodwork

The bodies & airbox are from a BMW S1000RR motorbike, the manifold is a normal Jenvey item for a Mk1 Megane & the adaptors to make the bodies fit are custom made. The airbox is the only thing that has the mechanism for the trumpets in it & it isn't really expensive or difficult to find & you...

Another Mk1 coming out of the woodwork

The radiator has got the mounts fitted for the fan so that's now fully fitted as well as a cam position sensor

Another Mk1 coming out of the woodwork

Got the bonnet properly fitted today and it clears everything that it needs to inside the engine bay so I'm happy with the results 😁 Can see where the subframe has been cut to accommodate the radiator so getting that welded back up is next on the list

    Clio Williams 0131 Restoration

A bit more progress with this, finally got around to sorting the subframe. Had it blasted back to bare metal & in the nearly 20 years of dicking about with Clio's this has to be the cleanest & most un-fucked subframe I've ever seen after it's been blasted

Another Mk1 coming out of the woodwork

Got something that vaguely resembles something that's similar to how it's done on a standard Valver, a nice simple oil breather from the rocker cover to the airbox Bit of bodgefuckery with rape tape to test if my existing fan will actually fit, thankfully it does and doesn't get hit by the...

Another Mk1 coming out of the woodwork

Got the finished radiator back today to start fitting it properly Minimal bodging needed for the bottom rad hose, just a joiner and a 90 degree hose A look at how snug the fit is after getting happy with an angle grinder on the subframe. A job for later will be getting it welded up to...

Another Mk1 coming out of the woodwork

Done a bit of cardboard aided design & some gentle massaging with an angle grinder to facilitate the radiator that's going in Got my hands on the radiator today. It's not finished yet, I just needed it to test my C.A.D skills and mark it up for where the fittings will need to go. It...

Another Mk1 coming out of the woodwork

Had some stuff done to the bonnet & did a test fit today. It's almost spot on, just needs a bit more fettling as it's catching on 1 little part of the fuel rail

Another Mk1 coming out of the woodwork

Not sure what to expect power wise now tbh 🤷‍♂️ I was hoping to see close to a genuine 250bhp with the bigger itb's and EGT sensors in the exhaust manifold but I've been told that the injectors in the airbox combined with the variable trumpets in it will help gain even more power so it's...

Another Mk1 coming out of the woodwork

In the effort to resolve the above mentioned space issues, I got my hands on a pov spec bonnet to use for marking up to work out exactly where to cut so it clears the airbox before chopping up the carbon bonnet I've sent the bonnet away to be fettled with and close up the hole whilst...

Another Mk1 coming out of the woodwork

Bit of an update: Finally got the itb's back When deciding what to do about what trumpets to use, I found out that the airbox from the bike the bodies came from was quite fancy. It has a motor in it that adjusts the length of the trumpets so I don't need to compromise on trumpet length to...

    Turini tyre recommendations?

My personal preference is PS3 or Avon ZV7 and whichever is available in the size I want and the cheapest between them, sometimes the PS3's have been the cheaper option. I've used both on my 172 Cup in 195 45 and there's zero performance difference between them from my experience

    Fuel Consumption/Range Full Tank

As it's a lower spec Mk1 it probably doesn't have the reserve tank that's part of the filler neck so will have about 10 litres less capacity than the ones with the reserve tank so I'd say your consumption is about right. The most I usually got from my Valvers that had the extra tank was about...
