I really appreciate the help everyone :)
I don't have spring compressors as they we're needed when I helped put the Sportlines on.
Sunday is the big day, fingers crossed.
Ok cool, well I'll give it a go first myself.
As I understand:
1. Loosen top mount nut, but don't remove
2. Jack up, remove wheels
3. Undo hub bolts
4. Finally undo the top mount (which I loosened in step 1)
5. Remove strut
6. Dismantle
7. Put in new strut (reusing the top part from the old...
Hello everyone,
I wondered if anyone here does any track days, or is planning to in 2011?
It's something I'm starting to consider doing at least once, just with my standard 182, but I would feel much better going with other people.
Brands Hatch is the only track I know or have driven around...
That's good to hear. I've just reserved it online and will pick it up at lunch. £129.99, gutted as it was £99.99 a week ago. Missed the boat on that one!
Just checked elsewhere and the top mount bolt is 21mm :)
Thanks, I think I'll just get the 150 piece kit then for piece of mind and future proofing. I'll get a swan neck spanner as well, two of the guides on here say 21mm, one says 22mm, so I might just buy both to be safe.
Thanks all.
Based on this guide (http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?541476-Fitting-v-maxx-coilovers-Guide) it's 18mm. This one (http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?381744-Fitting-Coilovers-Guide-(H-amp-R-s)&highlight=coilovers) says it's 16mm.
I'm so bloody confused. I feel like...
This picture suggests it's 24mm socket (based on the spanner having 24mm written on it, is that how it works?)
Can I just use an adjustable spanner for the whole lot?
Hi all,
Sorry for posting another tools thread, but I've checked the two guides within the guides section (http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?381744-Fitting-Coilovers-Guide-(H-amp-R-s)&highlight=coilovers and...
The 35L and the 135L are my two favourite lenses, I love them. I think I'll have to skimp on the 85 though and get the F1.8 version which seems to be a fantastic lens for the money.
For the panning motion I actually had it on one of those mini tripods called a Gorillapod. I just turned the...
I treated myself at Christmas :)
A couple of photos taken with the new camera and lens, inevitable cat test photos:
Oh, and I made a stupid video of him too!!

And a quick snap of my girlfriend in the garden (with the 135L this time)
The whole Canon vs Nikon debate is so retarded!!
For new photographers asking "Canon or Nikon", the answer should always be "Go to a shop, try them both out, go with which one feels right". Both are used by professionals the world over for a reason.
I'm a Canon man, but I'd never discount...
Sounds good to me. Will be great to meet some people as well as I've not been to a car meet before.
Oh, I'll be coming from Heatfield in East Sussex (through Tunbridge Wells and onto the A21).
Ok, sorry to hijack, but what about Arctic Blue with Anthracite Turinis? I bought some black paint, but now I'm thinking silver would be better, especially as my bullets are silver.
Thoughts?
I'm really tempted to go to this, and if there is a convoy I'm even more up from it.
1. Rob - Sidcup - A2 > M25 > A127
2. ScarySquirrel - A21 > M25 > A127
Welcome!
I'm not far from you all, I live up in Punnetts Town (near Heathfield), although I'm regularly down Eastbourne way as my girlfriend lives in Pevensey Bay :)
I'm very glad I read this. I also have some KTEC coilovers on order (and funnily enough will be fitting new brake discs soon) and I was going to ask where to take it for alignment. It's about an hour and a bit away from me but I assume these guys are worth the journey?
As I understand it I...
Thanks for posting those Tom. What a mess hey?
This is a good opportunity for me to say again how AWESOME both Tom and James were getting my car back on the road. They have since done more work on the car and I am of course very happy, hence the JMS sticker :)
Yeah, it was very very hard to be enthusiastic about the car while all that was going on, but I got through it :)
They will be up for sale eventually, but probably not for a few weeks. I'll be fitting the coilovers myself (eek!) so I need to keep them on standby really just case things go...
