if its a mk1 i believe theres a thing within the hand brake , unclip the plastic over it and u should see it.
mk2 have one of the 1 cable - 2 things , but its located under the car above the cat/ heat shield

u need a constant positive run from battery through firewall , through car to boot , to amp, a negative from amp to any metal on car, a remote wire to headunit (if aftermarket) , if not to a switched positive feed, also 2 rca leads from a after market head unit to amp, if...

look at the plate from the top air vents to the bottom ash tray
theres 4 screws angled upwards under 2 of the cross beams
undo all them , take out the ash tray , then it just pulls away.remember the fog lights , heater switch...
ye u kinda need one basically says yer cars road worthy for if u get pulled.
u are allowed to drive the car if it has no mot but only to take it for its test i believe

yep multi meter on bat engine off
then multi meter on bat engine on
the finally multi meter on bat engine on light on and fans on full
should give u a indication if its working, if the alternator is very poor engine might stall
climate controls good from when u first start yer car , so if u set it to 22 , it doesnt start blowing air through fast untill it can get air that temp into yer car
part from that , i wouldnt pay extra for it
i was told its because the car has a plastic fuel rail and is there to protect it in the case of a front end smash.
it can be removed , but wouldnt like to be near it if u ever do crash it
i get around 37-42mpg , 42s if im mway alot, 37 normal for work n back usual trafic
yer the notches on the gauge doesnt go down evenly
also u might notice the trip computer reseting with this cold weather.
as for yer drivin i rarley take mine over 3k unless i need the power
