My guess would be you've knocked something when you fit the springs yourself, I've driven over many a potholes on apex suspension (hard as nails) at higher speeds than 15-20 and it's caused an almighty clunk but it's been fine. That was on a 1.4 16v on 60 odd thousand.

I'd say battery, if not it will be alternator, if you have the equipment test both for voltage.
