This man speaks sense.
I wouldn't though, if it had lexarse lights and a halfords spoiler with wolfrace wheels then yeah but standard wheels painted in a different albeit subtle colour no.
Plans are to throw the back seats out so I need to be able to adjust to suit. Don't want a harsh ride so won't be buying cheap.
Wipes the floor with it tbh, the F4R is a totally different ball game altogether.
Plans for now are to get a decent set of coilovers and an exhaust and decat, probably stealth tbh. Much more planned but that's just for now including splitter and tyres. Oh some sort of audio upgrade too, none of this sub in the boot with 6x9's in the shelf business though, gotta keep the...
I know, someones left a deposit on the dynamique and intend to purchase on Monday afternoon so I'll get the bits and bobs sorted then including getting it booked in for a full service.
Few more:
I wasted no time in giving the new cup a wash and dry and then off to a location for pics.
I absolutely love the car to bits, everything about it is awesome. It can skip past everyone else on the road so easily! I'm not sure if it's the mileage but the build quality just seems ten times more...
Picked it up tonight! I f**kin love it!
Seems weird max torque being at 5,250rpm though, it just wants to go even when your in 3rd doing 30. I love everything about it and the waiting to get one has really paid off.
However, I think theres a slightly dodgy noise coming from the engine bay...
I might be up for this if it's on Saturday, I'll be in the cup. ;)
Not sure how much I'm gonna have money wise though it's lookin pretty tight until the dynamique sells so deffo a maybe atm.
I'd go Ferodo, I've got a set on mine and by god they are good when they are warm, using standard discs too. Several times I've gone into a sharp corner too fast and I've just had that vision that I've binned it but the brakes say otherwise!
No chance, and then some, as a first time DIY'er I'd allocate at least double that amount of time.
The bolts on the rear holding the dampers in at the bottom are difficult to get at and I found I needed a breaker bar, depends how strong you are though I guess.
The front struts I found...
Look on the brightside, at least it sounds good, the music that is.
All that money spent on the paintwork and bodykit and they haven't even bothered to put tyre shine on ffs, what's this country coming to?
This is the problem with dealers, mine was stamped to say it was serviced when I bought the dynamique but I later discovered it had rusty spark plugs and oil darker than the ace of spades.
Looks like you've been hit way harder though, sorry to hear it.
Doubt you will get much interest tbh, ebay is your best bet I reckon. When I got my K-Tec fitted I forgot to ask for my standard system so I guess they probably flogged it to someone. (not fitted by k-tec)
I just bought a 52 plate on 40k, mint condition, belts done, just serviced, 11 months MOT, 3 months Tax, £3,850.
Dangerous Daves looks a steal for the price and what you are getting but it depends if that's the route you plan to take, I was seriously considering yours Dave but I let it go due...
You gave it away with the name of the car under your avatar.
Looks mint anyway pal flamers are my favourite colour on the normal 172's easily. If you get standard wheels get em powdercoated gloss black ftw.
I thought that too but it sounds well and pulls well, oil is fresh, nothing around the filler cap, no blue smoke, you can only check so much can't you.
Thanks Gaz. ;)
172 cup ftw. I'm not biased either. ;)
If you're gonna strip it out and what not you have to think is 2 grand extra for a 182 cup worth it just to have either ABS or AC? I don't think so.
More weight anyway. :rasp:
