Didnt take long at all, alot easier than expected! Didnt have a splitting tool so we used an open ended spanned and prized it out.

Hi all. Im going to change the bottom balljoint today, after a quick search on here it doesnt seem too hard. Just a quick question though, Do i need to jack both sides up? I read one thread and it said something about the driveshaft popping out if you dont jack both sides up.

Maybe a mechanic will come up with some good advice but if i were you i'd just get a garage to replace them for me.

Try a pair of pliers/mole grips on the cap and another pair on the valve stem bit but dont pull it out. If not then its probably best to go to a garage, and dont use cheap metal ones again haha

The older lot will say to wait, and the younger lot will say go for it. It really is up to you, shop around and see if you can get it cheaper first though
