Hi, can anyone tell me if an altenator off a 172 cup would fit a normal 172?
just asking because of the aircon etc etc... thought there could be a different mount or something?
yeah thats what my cousin said, would that make the warning lights flash?
serv, airbag, abs, STOP, battery, traction controll...?
it would apear ive bought a wreck of a car :s
Just went out in the car, stopped at the bank, got out and left the car running, got back in and there were warning lights flashing at me, battery light, service light, stop light, AbS light, and I think all other warning lights. I turned the car off and went to turn it back on but it wouldn't...
Just. Called SWR and got a quote for timing belt kit and aux belt kit, 380, + dephaser pulley for 186. Total of 566. Hoe can renault justify charging 1100 to do the same job? What c***s
Thanks a lot for that tip off yee!
If its ok with you, I'm going to call renault and ask which parts exactly I was quoted for, and ill pm you and you can tell me if that's correct or not? Thanks for the info so far!
If I were to ship it down to you, get the work done, and get it shipped back, do you know how long that would take? And as for that 100 each way, does the distance come into that or is that from anywhere in the UK?
Is that 600 for the parts or the labour too? I live in the highland of sccotland. I don't know anyone that would know about these things tbh.
I can't really ship the car because I need it for work. Best I could do would be to put it into the garage for a day and get it the next day.
Jam I...
Yeah its a b**ch living up here!! Think the best thing to do is... Seeing as the dephaser needs done, ill get the belts done and if that doesn't stop the flat spots, ill get the diagnostics after, could save myself the 66!
this happened to me in my 1.2, clipped a curb with my back left wheel and my passenger airbag went off, it all happened so fast i didnt know what it was, i also thought my tyre had blown.
i had to get a new seat but even then, my airbag + service light stayed on, i never put it into renault to...

can anyone tell...
yeah i know it needs done and im going to get them done this week hopefully, thanks for the info..
but my question is... which parts do i actually need done?
So... As ive searched about the forum, by the sounds of my car and the threads on here i'd say my 172 needs the ''belts'' done.
I dont know much about engines, im just wondering if someone could tell me which parts exactly that i would need done.
