Thanks for that @Brigsy
I am all for trying the in-situ repair but firstly need to get the car up an incline into a garage
Quick question.
Say I drop the gearbox oil and pull the shaft. Is the circlip something that i could temp replace to all new to drive it up a drive
Would it also be...
I take it that it will be quite obvious if the circlip has gone?
If i can get away with an in car repair then a punt at the 50 quid would be worth it imo. There really aren't many boxes around and most certainly, non that I can find in Northern Ireland.
Will have to learn how to tap and get...
Right, so...........no drive in any gear actually. Not sure why it was crunching into 4th and 5th.
Can get it into all with no drive but can hear distinct whirring in 4th and 5th
1, 2 and 3 all go into gear really easy with no noise at all
Reverse will crunch but pushing the clutch in gets...
i havent buddy................i just got the car back to the house.
Couldnt happen at a worse time as we have just so much family stuff going on its unreal. These things come in threes eh?
:/
Eugh, so about to pull out of junction to leave the girls to school and bang......no drive.
Got the car to a safer place (albeit abandoned) and a neighbour kindly brought the girls for me
So sitting in the car trying to work out what has happened. I don't see any oil or bits of metal anywhere...
Hi gang,
Recently the car has been doing an odd thing with the wipers and electric windows
Get into the car, start it and drive off.....all is well. Wipers working, windows working.
Then i can hear a little click of what sounds like a relay in the passenger area and the wipers stop working. I...
Well, i had the centre section replaced in 2016 twice as welds failed a couple of times.............no issues there
But the baffles sound to have gone in the back box now..........sounds 'orrible :(

Thread resurrection I know.
Seems that Ktec have stopped dealing with Janspeed who made the original Stealth exhausts.
Their warranty policy has changed as well so it would seem that if you have an original item, they are no longer dealing with warranty requests for the old systems, at all...
Interesting point Steve as I may be faced with the same stripping job as bozo soon.
Any specific type of grease? I thought the manual stated some fancy stuff
Also, anyone know if that wee plastic/rubber nubbin is replaceable or should it be replaced?
J
To be fair, the thread has basically covered everything wrong with the car and I do hope it might be of use for some.
You know...........we have hit timing, map readings, replacement of LOTS of stuff now we are doing logging etc
Also to me...............its kind of a big deal that I replaced...
ok, so here is the plot once the car was warm and I was driving
blue is front o2, oscillating as expected
orange is rear o2, fairly static in and around 0.4 (not sure what scale that is but same scale as blue)
here is the plot towards the end of the journey
No EML light on way home mind...
Going to data log the whole journey home but sods law....................it will be absolutely perfect
Things like this make you wish you were logging all of the time ffs
Interesting points Rob. In my head it has always been a binary switch on these cars..........well.............every time i have been looking at the logs (which has been a-lot lately to be fair) it has always sat between 4/500.
That is why i was surprised to see it doing a roller coaster this...
Nipped out while chomping a sammich there and let it run up, grabbed some quick torque O2 logs...............i mean, all looks fine now. Bear in mind it was still sort of coming off cold start.
That rear one was off its crack earlier............
Tonight is bucked for me fella as while I will be close, I have to sort out a few things for mum around the same time.
Keep me posted and we can hook up soon.

might try using torque logging these on the way home as i have just realised that it is actually not bad in that regard
with a bit of my finest excel jiggery pokery i have a chart :)
Very interesting post Steve..............
Just seems odd that this is the first time I have ever noticed the value of the rear O2 changing when I was driving it. It was always a static value.
