I bet your gf wears clothes with the labels hanging out the back, just so people can see it.
Same with a reg plate, people arent gonna think omg how 04 is that, mines a 54, so is much better etc ;)
So, youve got to go without a car for another 6 weeks, just to get a different plate?!?
Just get it now and enjoy it for what it is! Like a reg plate is gonna make it drive differently.
Also its in the dealers interest to get you to wait.
Coz they then get an extra "new registration" for 54plates.
I dont think it will make much difference to resale value tbh, its a 2004 182 built in July, regardless of when it was regd.
The quality will be the same as a decent signal on an FM radio station.
Like I said the only downside to that particular unit, is if you set it to 88.5 for example and then drive into an area where a radio station broadcasts on 88.5, you will need to reset the modulator and then tune the head...
Yeah, although its quite a narrow band output.
ie you tune your radio to 88.3-88.7
Obviously if a "normal radio station" broadcasts on that freq, you re-tune.
The Origin only passes the GPS sat signal and nothing else to the PDA. The PDA then does its own analysis.
Put it this way, the db currently contains a certain amount of info for the cameras/blackspots.
Id guess at having to increase the memory by 10 fold if you were to log EVERY speedlimit...
I dont think it IS that easy to add.
You would need more of a sat nav system to cover speed limits, rather than the B2.
Think about it, your position is a grid reference. So the B2 would have to know ALL roads, the directions they went, and the grid references of the start/end of the...
Probably a "luck of the draw" thing, either that or the dealer swipes em as they come in.
Although I think someone said they got theirs through the post?
Thing is, it only has "reference points" in teh data base, so if youre not in a "known location" how would it tell you the speed limit of very road?!?
If you think about it, it must have quite a small memory capacity as all it needs to store is:
Coordinates
Direction of camera
Speed limit
hehe, its a running joke around here that the cup is best at everything.
Theres been stories in the driving tales, where cups have beaten ferraris, porsches and the like!
If you want the lower price, ie discounted. It has to be a "new build" therefore he cant bring one in off the forecourt and use the F&F discount.
Hence the courtesy car, because if he ordered one today, you are looking at 1st September (known date, a guy on another forum ordered yesterday).
Most dealers will not place the order until they have the certificate.
I would be asking for the following:-
182 as ordered (22% discount)
A courtesy car until the 182 is delivered
Any less than that and I would be involving solicitors to sue them for breach of contract.
