Ive got a feeling it prolly was used for a specific job.
The dealer reckons mine was stolen for a job and will end up the same way as yours.
(Mine was a Red 03plate 172, stolen from dealer forecourt last week).
try http://www.astra-sport.co.ukwww.astra-sport.co.uk I think? They should be better at answering Astra queries.
But welcome aboard, good choice on keeping the 182!
Sure it was the theives that burnt it, and not a reno tech fault? :)
Although in all seriousness, what a waste. It does indeed sicken you.
Everytime I drive past a crashed/burnt/stolen car, I cant help but think it was someones pride and joy, no matter how old/rusty etc.
Thing is tho, insurance pride themselves on being black and white, no grey areas.
So the question arises "Has it been modified?" Answer "Nope, its factory standard" End of story.
I havent bothered to declare.
As far as Im concerned its not modified, as it is "as factory built".
If they ever disputed that fact, Id be livid, but I cant see how they can charge for something that is not a modification.
Also, the only thing not mentioned above about the F&F discount is whether you had the certificate?
ie all F&F deals have to be approved by Reno UK HQ, and they send you a certificate to present when ordering the car. Its down to them what discount you get etc, not the dealer.
As long as you...
I tend to buy Shell Optimax, but I cant get that then I will use Super Unleaded from BP, Esso, Shell.
Only as a last resort would I use Supermarket petrol.
A kinda petrol snob if you like!
OMG!! Its just too exciting!
My 182 is now at the dealers, which means I can definitely collect it on Saturday all being well.
Just waiting on a form to arrive that allows them to register the car in my name apparently.
Only 5 days to go!! waaaahhhoooooooooo!
did you not see top gear last nite?
They said that the scenic is NOT worth the 2000 extra over the same specd megane as the space you supposedly get extra isnt all that big a deal.
Pumping the accelerator before tuning the key will have no impact.
Its a "fly by wire" system, so the throttle is not directly connected to the throttle body afaik.
I think Edde said he wasnt sure about the cable being fully working.
AFAIK the 172/182 changers are the same and the headunit is teh same, just rebadged.
Reno want £86 or there abouts for a new cable iirc, hence my consideration just to get a new headunit sooner rather than later.
Oh thats a bit naff, having to swap the Navi Disk and Audio Disks!
The hide-away unit, will it not sit under the passenger seat where the standard cd-changer lived?
Whats the "face off" situation like with the alpine? is it that noticable when shutdown etc?
Also I presume you can get an...
Ads,
Having seen your ice setup, I trust your viewpoints.
Id be interested in seeing some photos of your new headunit, and perhaps a mini review from you? :)
For that amount of money, I wanna be sure.
Up until the weekend I had considered a standard headunit, but then I thought about it...
Was looking at other forums last nite and came across this Headunit, which I think is uber sexy. Goes for about 1500 I think. DVD, Sat Nav, MP3 etc.

Its the cutting away that bothers me.
I have visions of a "Technician" hacking with a "junior hacksaw" from his dads toolbox, and leaving the bare metal edges untreated > "Hello rust"
