If you get massively questioned, throw them a business card to allow them to see more of your work. Offer them an image via email, be polite etc etc. what we do isn't a crime, so try not to act like a criminal that just wants to snatch images..........explain exactly what you are trying to...

I'm fairly experienced and just use an x100 - it's a tool, it's my brain that makes the image.

For learning a Fuji X100 is perfect, but some may say you would need a DSLR. Since owning my X100 I will never buy an SLR ever again. I'm creaming at the new M9 Monochrome.

As mentioned turn the Thermo switch off. Used one for two years and hammered it, never missed a heartbeat - or though I prefer SB800 - much smaller.

Or failing that I used to go to a local arts and crafts shop and buy coloured acetate sheets, they normally cost 30p per A4 sheet.

Can output be adjusted?

It's good if you are used to Nik Software plugins. It does pretty much all you need, and is a breeze to use on the iPad.
