Ive had this problem with Micro SD cards, something do do with a controller on the chip.
End of the story is I couldn't format it or do anything with it, it was dead.
Hope you have better luck with yours.
Just listened to the video Fred, hats off to you, that is the noise I have. I didn't just use a back street garage, I used a a specialist, when I had someone off here listen they said they could hear the belt rubbing slightly.
So how bad is this ? Obviously it will need sorting ASAP, will the...
Spark plugs where checked, It does sound like a normal engine in that video, its hearing the other noise that is the problem, heres another video, on the road no surfaces for the noise to bounce off it sounds ok, when Im parked next to cars its noticeable.
Could do with some trained ears, I realise its hard to diagnose unless stripping the engine or hearing it in person, basically I thought this clacking type noise in the video below was the water pump bearing failing and after the pump and a new Aux kit was fitted the noise still existed. It will...
Pump, haven't had to do the pump on my 182, but on the 1.2 I just pulled it out, is that not possible to just pull the pump out without removing the wiper mech and bottle?
Do you have to remove all of that just to get at the pump? on my 1.2 I just pulled it up and out, and replaced?
Edit, just read above about the lazy method, I suppose do a job once and do it properly :)
A little bit more information will help people answer, was the car running fine before it had no spark or?
Battery's fine? alternator? coil pack? Ht leads?
Put it in gear, leave the wheel fully on the ground, put a breaker bar on so you can stand on it or something.
If that doesnt work take it to a garage to get buzzed off.
Probably rattled off and down the road if there is supposed to be one?
I would expect it needs the cover to stop dust and dirt getting in there larger plastic cover screws in then a smaller plug into that?
Might be best just ordering one from VW.
Cheers for the offer mate I will keep it in mind, I've taken the bumper off and ran the car, I can hear the pas pump making the noise it does in the video, but I can't be sure its the rattle so I've asked a member on here who I've been taking to if he can come and have a listen first before I...
Like so, is this the "boss" is this the only thing that needs removing and pressing on to the new pump? if so then I just need to find a kit, the one on ebay doesnt seem to be able to hook underneath the pulley...
I've already done the water pump
Mate the problem seems to lye with the PAS pump now, the workshop manuals show the pulley shaft needing to be pulled off and pressed on ?
Yeah I had the pulley off for more room when taking the water pump off, but Im reading about this "boss" or "flange that needs to be pressed on and can be a right pain?
I thought the shaft that the pulley attaches too needs to be pulled off? saids something like that in the workshop manuals.
Ok, will test today with the aux on how long it takes to here the rattle, hopefully under a min. then Ill do the same tomorrow when its not raining.
Seeing as my other existing thread has gone quiet, does anyone know what I need to do to the new pump before I can fit it? pull the pulley off...
Yeah I think I will, problem is I have to drive to my grandads flat drive across the road before lifting the car up, cant on mine as its on a slope, makes things annoying because he needs his space so Ill have to refit the belt only to take it back off again when the pump arrives.
Have a price...
