I work as a Photographer and surrounded by 5 other Photographers every single day!!!!!...you tend to not want to bring work home.

I use some software called image recall.....as long as you can plug your phone into your pc and it recognises it as a drive it should work.
I use for my cameras in work....it pulls stuff off of USB sticks over 2 years deleted.

It is a coating in the glass, usually the more expensive lenses.
It is there to help eliminate Aberations.( purple or colour ghosting artefacts) and improve contrast ratio's

regardless of what brand the lense is, always go for a fixed focal length i.e 10mm OR 20mm.
Unless paying higher end prices on a zoom WA you will 9 times out of 10 get poor edge to edge sharpness and lots of Chromatic aberation.( purple hazing around the edges)
