i'd try to avoid it if possible. If its looking too rough put a dust coat of laquer on leave for a few days then sand it down to stop loosing any flake. Saying that i've slightly sanded metallic before but purely to remove overspray, wouldnt recommend it though.

^ i was actually gonna suggest one of those, dont look as nice as the St170, but are probably a better car. Slightly more expensive than the ST170s though so may need to wait for a bargain to come up. Starting at around 5.5k with 70k

mates got a 2.0 zetec and loves that? seems much better made than the clio anyhow. I've heard a lot of bad things about the mgs by contrast, lad down the road from me had to have a complete engine rebuild under waranty... every cars got its horror stories at the end of the day

Talking to the dealer about this, the pic on this thread is the GT. Difference being its got a 1 off black to purple flip paint job, and half leather and alacantra seats, the rest of the spec being the same as the dynamique s (might have diff wheels i'd assume)

main concern i'd have with colourcoding the car is colour matching, even if you get a decent enough finish the colour will prob be all wrong, especially on a metallic colour. And from experience this time of year is crap for spraying, i can guarentee the laquer will go cloudy and give all sorts...

you'll have to pay a load on insurance as well as the 2k on parts remember. As edde says its a straight fit just too much of a ballache to bother lol

I ahd this on mine. After having it balanced and tracked (both were tonnes out) there was still a small vibration. Coincidencially i'd ordered some new tyres, when i took the old ones off and put the new ones on it stopped completly, turned out it was due to heavily uneven tyre wear

much cheaper than the dealer. Give em a ring with your paint code and order it over the phone. Mark is really helpful and will sort u out no probs

had a loook at the focus ST170s? 5k, for one on around 50k, also all the toys, ford reliablility and a lovely half leather interior. Also a bit more strret cred ;)

I'd say 5900 was maybe a bit optimistic due to the mileage, i'd prob say about 5.5k was more like the figure your looking at depending on reg plate. Also this time of year is piss poor for selling cars. Wouldnt go from something like a 172 to a pug GTi, as its more of a sidestep and you'll...
