Brings it up a treat, Paint your steelies gloss black... Wont look amazing but better than trims and looks different untill you can get alloys etc IMO Still has a lot of potential but coming along nicely.

Paint on? the local polish car was use that because its quick.. i think. I use Meguiars endurance tyre gel, Mainly because it can be found in halfords.. My bottles still half full and lasted me 2 and a bit years (washed every 2 weeks) They're are other better products out there though.

Dont necessarily need spacers, Ive got 172 alloys on my 1.2.. had to take the rear archliners out.. The rears are about 3mm off the rear shock covers, But i think theyve worn through now lol ! depends on the tyre wideness, Im running 195, if it was 205mm wide i think you'd need 10mm spacers...

Mechanics where are you? in my head im thinking my battery isnt keeping up or my alternator, Or my earth needs cleaning, My belts have good tension so im wondering if it COULD be a voltage drop?

Pro's for go Sport's for show is the saying. I dont really have an answer to your question because im a non sport, But the lowering on pro's isn't massive and that sounds like what your after, And the handling is greatly improved imo...
