If those alloys are the same size, width, offset etc. as 172 alloys then 5mm is enough to stop it scrubbing the inner arch. I have a set of 4 universal 5mm spacers lying around that you can have for like £5 posted?
Your car genuinely looks like it's on stilts there. Needs lows desperately, recommend coilovers immediately! you could get spacers off fairly cheap from here...
Yeah, definitely only go light, like one or two coats with this stuff http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270764645835?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
would be interesting to see how it looks on a mk3
Since you're going for a dark theme, may I suggest a light smoke tinting of your rear lights? I haven't seen it done on a mk3 before, it's pretty cheap and I think it would actually really suit your car :)
Would look much better if you just sprayed the engine cover the same colour as the car in my opinion. Just get a cup spolier and enjoy your perfect looking clio!
Will look great once it's on 172 alloys and coilies. Would be even better if you got rid of the stickers and got either a dynamique or 1*2 spoiler. If I was you I'd get some spacers too, you'll need them on the back anyway with 172 alloys to stop it rubbing so might aswel get a decent set all...
Small update today. Put on sport door handles for the interior and picked up my freshly refurbished alloys from city powder coating. Unfortunately I ended up waiting outside for an hour and a half for them to finish the refurb, despite the fact I had been told they would be finished yesterday...
Not a huge fan of those alloys. I think you could make it work if it was properly low and some big spacers on for a euro look. Otherwise it's not my cup of tea.
Try putting your voluntary excess up to the max, my total excess is £1300, which is probably more than my car is worth, but it's only for a year, I'll have like no excess in february :) Also put your mum as a named driver. The only other thing i could think of is that it's because you're not the...
I usually try to be as constructive as possible but that is just awful. Sorry but that bodykit completely ruins the car, the wheels look like they should be on a cadillac escalade or something like that, and you haven't even bothered to lower it! Good job with the colour coding though, put the...
If it's a 1.2 and I'm assuming you're 17, then those insurance quotes are ridiculous! Then again when I got my insurance for £2660 last year as a 17 year old, my car didn't have any mods. But as far as I can tell, the only mod you can actually put on your insurance is the rear bumper? Correct me...
Looks like a really nice car mate, love the colour. Those alloys definitely need to go though :P what alloys have you ordered for it? All your plans sound good but I'd suggest lowering it more than 35mm as Mk3s tend to sit really high as standard. Get some chrome indicator bulbs, best mod for...
Since it's only the same as using non hubcentric spacers, I'd take that over not having a spacer on and having it scrubbing the inner wheel arch. I'll be ordering a new one today, it'll only be on until the new one comes
Thanks for all the advice and thanks very much for the offer Chip but I'm up in Wrexham this weekend. I think I'll just get a new set, won't be as expensive as I thought since I wouldn't need bolts because I already have them.
I only have them on my rear wheels and the other one was fine. I'm unsure of the brand as I got them off another member. Thanks for your advice though.
Thanks chip, I'll check it's running straight and leave it on for now until I can afford another set (Christmas)
Coilovers were fitted yesterday by Danlp6. Ride is crashy as f**k now but atleast it's sitting nice and low. I personally think it looks much better now, this should've been the first mod I did.
I'm hoping the back will settle down a little further as they were brand new springs, if they don't...
Took my back wheel off today to find that part of the spacer had come off and was sat inside the centre bore of the wheel. I managed to get it back on with the spacer on too but I'm not sure if it will be safe like this. I imagine this will be putting extra strain on the wheel bolts as it isn't...
Looking good. As stated earlier it looks much better on the 172 alloys :) if I was you I'd get some lowering springs (or coilovers if you've got the money) and possibly a sport interior? Since you've already got the sport steering wheel I think it'd make it awesome inside too. Could also...
Haha same really. In hindsight I shouldn't have got a new laptop and just got more car bits instead :P
Coilovers going on tomorrow, wheels will be refurbished in white before Christmas hopefully
