It's actually of no use at all unless you're shifting very very slowly.
The natural rev decay on my ST is ultra slow (either because of mapping or the very low friction engine I guess?) so if you are in any way trying to make progress, you'll be re-engaging the clutch in the next gear way...
Amen. Not a lot wrong with them as far as I can tell apart from mid to high road noise levels.
Progressive, enough sidewall movement but not too much, 20k per set including two trackdays, £85 per corner fitted. So long as they keep making them I'll keep fitting them to my ST.
You're doing say 4k rpm in 3rd, you change to 4th. The revs drop down to 2k ready for 4th but stay there for a second or two before decaying down to tickover.
So all it does it hold the revs at the right level for the next gear on an upshift.
Practice, practice, practice, practice, practice. Eventually it will become as natural as any other action you use your feet for in a car, you'll be able to do it without thinking.
That hardest thing I found is to be able to maintain a constant pressure on the brake pedal while blipping the...
Nice work! Looks good, especially the wheels.
I find the complete opposite on track with the OEM Bridgestone tyres. Love them so much that I had my third set fitted on Saturday in advance of Goodwood this coming weekend. can't wait...will have some comedy moments as it wobbles about on the big...
Yep, colour match is as good as it always was and they've got the gold flake spot on. I took a bright LED inspection lamp with me as it was overcast at the time. Major paranoia on my part but I needn't have worried. They've done a good job.
So it took a few days longer than expected but I'm pleased to report it's back. It's been a very long three and a half weeks. I only got to drive it the 0.2 miles home from the bodyshop (compared to the Zetec it felt like it had zero suspension LOL) as I'm working on the company's payroll...
Give me a few more hours of recording and I'll be able to confirm one way or another.
I believe it does, but looking at the file on the SD card from my accident I don't see any change in properties to suggest it is write protected.
As it's 32gb the card is taking a while to loop back...
Is it not friction between the cloth and the contaminents?
The same as with clay, when it eventually falls silent there are no contaminents on the surface to make a noise with as they've been lifted off.
Update on the repair, it's been pulled, cut, welded, should be going to paint later today, aiming for a return to me on Friday.
Thank f*** for that.
:D
Is streaming for free from whatever source you can find not the ultimate in pikey-ness?
I pay for s**t (Sky) then watch it when I want to which works just fine. To me that's how it's meant to work.
I've just been to see it/them, so sad walking away and having to climb back into the Zetec. Their operation looks professional enough though...it's in good hands.
As for the wheel refurb, they sub it out so don't do it themselves...and he couldn't comment on any likely paint match issues so...
So two weeks after this happened and the bodyshop have all they need except the rear bumper which is en route from Germany. I'm going to take a stroll across to see it at lunch, see how they're getting on and ask if they might be able to refurb my one slightly kerbed wheel while they have it...

Any good? If I had £150 in my back pocket for a camcorder I would buy this one with little hesitation.
Looks good enough to me. I've only had Panasonic ones myself...I tend to buy last year's models once the latest one is released with features I'll never use...that way I get video and audio as good as it gets without paying for stupid face identity/tagging software or YouTube uploading...
Yes but only if you don't have an external mic input on your video recording device.
If you do have and can plug it in then it should write the audio as part fo the video file.
Using the Zoom though means you have two completely seperate recording devices so the video and audio have to be...
Doesn't look like attaching a mic is an option on that version.
I myself run with one of these now;

Combined with a decent quality furry dead cat windshield what it picks up and the clarity of it is incredible.
It does mean you need...
For me audio is as important, if not more so, than video quality.
For that reason I'd get a dedicated camcorder...and make sure it's one with forward facing microphones.
I forget what colour yours is?
If black, white, or molten orange, yes, orange seats were/are a nil cost option.
Yep. In certain lights and at certain angles my front/rear bumpers do look slightly but noticeably different.
I just avoid looking at it from those angles LOL.
Anyone who specs a MO body and opts for grey seats should be shot on general principle.
Other body colours? Orange seats are a must with black, less so with white but still works, and thankfully not an option at all for red or blue.
