It continues to move forward.
Insurance company have issued approval for repair. Dealership have advised bodyshop. Bodyshop have ordered parts.
Also, it turns out the repairing bodyshop is a 3 minute walk or a 1 minute drive from home in my village. They are going to love me LOL
A quick update; Aviva have confirmed their engineer has all he needs to sign off on the repair, that's expected to happen today so, bodyshop time permitting, they can get started repairing on Monday.
If it takes two weeks to complete I'll have it back two weeks before Goodwood giving me just...
Nah. I'm enjoying the Zetec 1.0.
Economy is ridiculous and my progress is the same as in the ST...1 is fine but I have to hope no 2 or 3 car overtakes are needed. That's the only downside really.
At its core its very similar to the ST, it is a bit soft and imprecise when pressing on but that...
I don't want another one. I've cherished this one for the last two years and 40,000 miles, it's never been held on the clutch, gear shifts are always rev-matched, it spends most of its life being driven gently along country back roads, so with the 5 year Ford warranty I bought it with I have a...
I found out today that the repair quote that's gone off for approval is £4,200 + VAT.
Considering webuyanycar values mine at circa £9.5k...is it going to be a cat D write off?
@gally ?
A quick check tonight of the Zetec's tyre pressures shows the inability of anyone to get them correct on Fiestas isn't just confined to the ST.
Standard on the Zetec should be f31 and r26. It came with f40 and r46!
I'm looking forward to giving it a proper run to work tomorrow to see what it...
I can vouch for the noise ratings.
Most tyres are in the 69-74db range. Getting four tyres for my Scenic recently I went for some Khumo tyres with a rating of 67db, the lowest noise rating I could find for any tyre.
The result?
Almost absolute and total silence at any speed on any surface...
Having now used the five door Zetec for a day the back doors make life so much easier...I'll add that to my "this is why a Focus RS is a good idea" argument I think.
Nice one Mike, thank you. I'm sure all will be done in time and hope it doesn't come to that but I'll let you know.
Her being...
It is, his insurers are picking up the tab.
I had a Fiesta, I've got a Fiesta. ALL gadgets except heated seats and LED running lights are present...it just happens to have less that half the power which is no trouble at all as what it has is more than enough toget from A to B.
It makes the...
Oh, and a few words on the Zetec;
Small doors are weird.
So many turns from lock to lock is weird.
SYNC, bluetooth, voice control of my iPod are all exactly the same despite it being the lower spec non-Sony audio unit.
Movement on the brakes through the 55 profile sidewalls is pure comedy...
Thanks @gally, muchos gracias.
I'm hoping it'll continue to be a smooth ride. I'll be chasing the dealer on Monday for at least an estimate of timings and what to expect and when.
This morning I managed to get smacked up the ar*e by a Megane while taking Megan to school, it shook her up a bit but she managed to get to and take part in the sports day and is fine. I now have, after several hours of recovery, taxi rides, collection by Enterprise, and then a fun drive home, a...
Bravo for stick with the original rear licht clusters and not going all mk2.
The valve caps and steering wheel make me sad though :(
Other than that, perfect!
I've just watched the footage back and it may have been a bit faster, 20-25 mph, didn't see any evidence of him slowing down at all!
So I'm sat at home waiting for Enterprise to come and collect me to take me back for the hire car...I've requested an EcoBoost Fiesta and the lady said she should...
I'm now sat in the repairing dealership awaiting a hire car from my insurers. Me and Megan are both fine, it was relatively low speed maybe 15mph max and it was a proper shock for her so some tears followed. She's gone off for her school sports day now though and she's fine.
Me? I'm just hoping...
Joy of joys, driving my daughter to school this morning and I got smacked up the rear while waiting to turn right.
Creased floor, fucked bumper and boot, fuel cut out tripped, emergency services automatically called by Ford SYNC, and I'm now sat waiting for recovery. Great.
I'm supposed to be...
You keep saying this which is odd seeing as you are completely 100% wrong.
Did you read this or experience it first hand yourself?
If you read it, what you read is wrong. If you experienced it either the ST you drove was broken or you don't know how to fully disable it.
I owned a Mk3 Clio 200...
That's so nice. If I didn't need occasional rear seat use I'd be drawn toward one of these instead of a 997 C2. Will probably never happen, at least not for a good while anyway, and Ford have thrown a right spanner in the works with the new FRS. Grr.
Never looked at the interior on...
Let us know how you get on with the M360. Being able to "OK google" without having to dig my phone out from my pocket has appealed for a while now. You can do that on the 360?
Only used twice a year by me...once in the spring (just finished) and once before winter sets in. That's more than enough. The rest of the time it simply gets a blow over with the pressure washer and if it's lucky occasionaly a 2BM wash with a normal soft mitt.
I have one of these, I've just finished giving the car a panel by panel workout over the last few weeks/washes (I only do one panel with each full body wash as I give it a full on polish/seal/wax after and time is always a limiting factor for me). I wash it first with the G3 body prep shampoo...
It'd be at risk of treading on the toes of the new Focus RS.
Having said that, seeing as all the opposition are priced circa £3-5k more than the Fiesta, there's certainly scope to turn it into an animal.
