I really am missing something if people are prepared to pay £5,500 for that.

Of the extra £7,500 the 'R' costs we know £2,000 of that is for the suspension. So for the remaining £5,500 you get Cup tyres, different wheels, and some weight saving. WTF am I missing? Or do I just not get it?

Spindly wasn't the right word, but think about how the bolts/studs are designed to function. They work under longitudinal tension don't they which provides the friction between the hub and wheel? Imagine what they're subjected to when they've bolted a wheel to a rim...the force, in the absence...
