My mates just found out his car is cat c

E90 330i - Third Blue Motor On The Bounce

So, as is tradition, things have been bought. First, a bit more diagnosis as to what the whirring was.. New rear caliper to solve the sticking: Fitted. Fixed. It was just binding a smidge. Then, I simply couldn’t get on with the shape of the gearknob, very flat on top, harsh angles? Almost...

    Z4 3.0

Sorry dude, rear trailing arm bushes. I had a clonk when swinging from side to side. They are quite rare to go I think, but it'd done nearly 150k. I would advise against ever changing them unless you need to! As for the fronts, if you want to improve it 10 fold, I'd just buy and fit this...

    Apple 8/X

XS is now at 95%. Release day phone. But I do abuse it, it gets used massively as a hotspot etc.

It looks good there mate! Much better than the advert pics! What bushes have you ordered? For the front, standard meylee HD lollipops are fine (IME). Ant and I changed my RTAB’s for Powerflex, but it’s a real prick of a job and shouldn’t be necessary at your miles. Thanks for tagging me, you...

    E36 3.0 ITB Race Build

Superb update Jord. Loving the bracket design and fabrication, very slick (especially the steering wheel). Cracking!

    Q: ph1 silver dasch trim

Got any pics? I'd consider using some solvent to get all the sticky off and just be left with silver, before you go mental and try to remove it all.

Buy an e90 335i they said, it'll be fun they said ...

Loving the beast of an intercooler! Very nice indeed. I, like you, came to the conclusion that BMW servicing is utterly pointless. In my head you got something for your money, but when I took the 650i in for an oil service (it had fbmw history), I was certain I'd never bother again. Just a few...

E90 330i - Third Blue Motor On The Bounce

Spent a whole day faffing with a mates Golf GTI front suspension, e90 relegated to the street. Looked nice mind you:

    Terry's E92 330i

Good work. I did the same on my z4, I may do the same on the new 330.. I don’t get the point of the ‘sealed for life’ approach

    Z4 3.0

It's either that, or 224's, but they're expensive and rarer. I'll stop spamming your thread now Dan :)

    Z4 3.0

Yeah agreed, mental to think that the oldest ones are 16 year old cars now! 16 bloody years! That's because you're young, and ill informed. One day you'll get it. I don't think Dan's shoddy pictures help things... so I hope new pictures will change my mind!

On this note @dann2707 I may actually have the perfect set of wheels for you. Basically, I have a split set of 108's sitting around, four wheels, all with all 20 bolts removed, and none snapped. These days, when you try to remove the titanium bolts from the alloy wheels, the two have somewhat...

E90 330i - Third Blue Motor On The Bounce

So I went and a new car up from @Sir_Dave today, I seem to have a thing for buying the same colour cars one after another... I may as well do the background as I haven't really posted much car related stuff since getting rid of the Silver Grey 650i.... So after having 4 silver cars, I went and...

    172 in a mk1, Superfatdan's very very long project....

The two of you are having a properly s**t race. Like, I know people say about tortoise and hare type s**t. But you two started, stalled, had to do a full rebuild in the middle of the track, and are now crawling towards the finish line. Got no strings you can pull at old place of work?
  19. Rob

    These days, 3 grand buys an e90 330i ...

It’s home: Thanks again Dave. Got a bit of list of things I want to do already, but I’ll make my own thread for that ;)

    Z4 3.0

Glad you found one Northerner. Gear knob, you want a weighted ZHP. There’s a forum bmw dealer that sorts a bit of discount. Look up my old thread if you want many details/ideas. Spec wise, you missed multi function steering wheel (good option). Also that’s a weird ass exhaust tip?

    Daniels Blue 182.

Ah ok, so you're looking pre-facelift right? So that's the M54 engine, chain driven, belts are technically an inspection 2 item, so should be done every 4 years-ish, however, don't let that put you off like it does in the Clio. You can change them yourself very easily, no timing involved...
  23. Rob

    Daniels Blue 182.

Good man. With regards the z4, make sure you buy the "right" one. Spec is everything, as is engine. Some cars look like a bargain, then you spend half your life and all your monies retrofitting bits to make it as good as you want it to be.

    Flamer hack

Really nice this, one thing, run the parrot cable through the vent surely??? Or is the plug too big? It’s a bit unsightly as is!

Did you check the ABS ring on this new brake discs? Count the teeth etc?

Should give those callipers a lick of silver hammerite when you do the fluid. Good work on the key though, nice to not have to worry

    Insurance, they're not all bad.

So, my insurance renewal is due on the 28th Feb. I'm currently with AA insurance. They write to me with a surprisingly reasonable quotation, however I'm about to change cars. I phone up this morning and give them the details of the new vehicle and ask if they can do anything. To their credit...

    Why members don’t attend meets?

Reading that thread, I thought ‘holy s**t’ a year for an accident. Then I read he was at home after 3 months, such justice system!

    Why members don’t attend meets?

Meets are what you make them. We used to have people that organise interesting ones, and people would attend en mass. I've been to some great ones over the years, but when I look back, the good ones were never just stood in a car park somewhere. If people got back to doing things like...
