Electric Power Steering in an 03 Clio

Problems tend not to get better unfortunately. Further damage (to other parts) is unlikely. To the column, if it's the bearings, motor, they might just give out one day but it would take a while. You'll likely have to repair before sale so it's best to bite the bullet and do it. Give it a go...

    Clio Hunt

£2k should see you pick up something very good. As said, travel for the best ones. Get club membership and look in the classifieds, it's where the best bargains and best maintained cars are. Lots of people advertise there and nowhere else.

    ***How much is it worth?***

Re: Valuation advice - 172 Rep Not 100% sure on the price as I haven't looked at the value of these for ages but I think those wheels will put a fair few people off as they don't look standard. Flog separately and put 172 alloys on. It is low mileage so your price seems about right, advertise...

Electric Power Steering in an 03 Clio

If you do everything methodically and take your time no. Write a list of every part you take off in order and then follow it back when reassembling. Should you doubt anything just put some loctite on all the bolts you undo and put back together. Don't do that on the dash trim etc but on the...

Electric Power Steering in an 03 Clio

Same mate. Haven't heard of the motor going really. Whole column is slightly trickier if you aren't that confident though (what if the car has no steering etc!) To change the EPAS column it's easiest to take the whole lower dash off because of the motor. Or you can do as I said earlier and...

Electric Power Steering in an 03 Clio

As the car has electric power steering it doesn't have a power steering reservoir. It has a motor behind the dash which is attached to the column...

    Worn Steering Rack?

As said removing the rack is not fun. 4 bolts on the back of the subframe which are almost impossible to get to without dropping the subframe a fair amount. Can be done with car on stands no problem just get it nice and high. Think this would cover it Remove; top mount caps lower gearbox...

Suspension springs...anyone seen anything like these?!

Those springs don't look cut to me. They just look mullered in the initial photos. Cup springs are a good investment though and the ones you got look almost brand new! lucky sod :) Just about to put them on mine

    HELP!!!!

Do you have a display in your car. The 182 uses that plug for the display on the nav models as well. Not all plugs have homes, they product bulk universal looms as it's cheaper than doing individual ones. Try an original radio and see what the deal is then

    HELP!!!!

Those connectors are used for a whole raft of things including climate control, dash display etc. The radio will just be a normal iso. Check all the connections are giving the right voltage when ignition on/off and go from there.

    Hit by uninsured driver help

Depends if it's the lines of churchill who off the cover. Place I used to work for you would loose 2 years if they had to pay out anything on the claim.

    Hit by uninsured driver help

MIB can claim through last insurers on record but it can take a very long time so it's best to tell them to go down that route straight away. MIB/any insurer/police will be able to find out who the last insurer was through the motor insurers database. Third part allegations will be sent to...

    Discovered a problem, advice appreciated

Yep. You can remove the cable tie and then you'll be able to see the mechanism, won't cause any loss of fluid. If if is fluid leaking it sounds like one of the seals has gone.

    Discovered a problem, advice appreciated

Smurf_182 If you touch it is it fluid or grease like? As far as I can see there is no problem with that other than a touch of grease has come out of the cover. That cover goes over the handbrake mechanism which is a lever on the back of the piston, no fluid under there . At worse if it's...

Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+ Does look better in rust, needless to say these shocks did not pass the hammer test. New springs are eibachs so it should sit at a reasonable height. Certainly interested to see how the wheels sit in the arch and whether it is noticeably lower. Found 2 spare...

Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+ They do seem to have semi decent damping abilities but leaking fluid from around the top. Went through your DCI thread about 100 times to see how you did the front end. Made the same mistake with yellow calipers once. Looked great and then I used the car :(

What would you suggest, cheap rust repair

I think it may have had a scrape many many moons ago but it's not a previous repair, no filler or signs of paint work. True about patching, I said to her it would really need something tacked on but I know it's not an option unfortunately. A chap suggested I could try and get and clean up as...

    Brake pads

entirely depends what you plan on using it for Normal road use I would go for standard or mintex. Spirited road driving DS2500 Track I would go for CL RC6 or RC5+ For more aggressive applications you may need different discs. g172 can sort you out if you're looking for some.

Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+ Yeah might do it black so it doesn't look too non-standard. The idea is to keep it looking as oem as possible. Calipers will probably get a seal kit but christ the pistons are expensive. Rear shocks leaking I think, sound pretty squelchy. Bloomin' great
