Very nice motor IMO. As long as it is std looking i.e. original wheels and mint body work. Being a turbo they can be tuned to silly power but std I dont think they are too quick...

Lol I think the drop in performance was very gradual. We wouldnt really have noticed but when at York my times were 1/2 second slower and 4mph less! With the new plugs in it is like when I first drove it with Rsport and decat on...Im smiling again!! :D

Lol I think that track day didnt help! My m8 reckoned they werent too badly worn, but once they were replaced they made a difference. Maybe there was a dodgy connection...

They are colour coded m8. I didnt realise but I saw Wayne + Kathys at Curborough and they had glossy black trim. And the Blue has the glossy blue trim....

Where are you from m8. I know that some places that do powerflow are really cack. The place in Burnley (Top Gear) is very good IMO. If you look on the CTR forum, youll find that the people on there are willing to travel hundreds of miles to go. Sam(funky) who went to Curborough is coming up from...
I suppose you could check it on the digital oil level on the dash? I think Honda did the best with the Civic Type R. Right on the top of the engine (no it aint next to the sump plug!)

Not sure. Think it was about £100 fitted. Just be sure they set it up correctly. When I first got it, it was a little better. Had it rrd a month or so later and he had a tinker with it and that made a much more noticable difference.

I used to have a 1.2 8v. One of the most noticable mods I got was a FSE powerboost valve. Once it was set up properly it made a noticeable diff. I found I didnt have to drop throu the gears every time I had to slow down/speed up slightly.

Thats the problem. I dont usually give it much in 1st as it spins too easily. I made a concerted(sp) effort to take it easy when I picked it back up. Pretty much the first time I gave it a bit (in 2nd tho) I could hear a slight knock when coming on cam. Sounds/feels terrible!
