A de-cat will usually, on an older car, cut your top speed, without a de-cat on my Mark 1 1.4 RT, I could do 120 (on my privvy test track in my back garden of course) but with the de-cat I would struggle to do 110.... But saying this, when are you stupid enough to do over a ton on a public...
HillPower may do a half heat shielded kit for the mark 1 1.2/1.4s but Im not sure if thats for your engine type. I didnt notice that you meant the 1.2, if I were you Id get any open induction kit, you may or may not lose or gain power, but to be honest any power gained or lost will be sod all on...
Thru 1st gear? you hero... Youve got an 8v engine and probably weigh less than his windscreen alone.
I think at pod you were getting really good 60ft times, about the same as me, and a lot of other 16v engined cars, and Im not a sh*t driver!
Someone asked this a while ago, in theory yes, but in practice I dont think its really needed. Maybe if you only tweaked with the coilovers ride height a bit it wouldnt be needed, but a drastic drop (going from a 30mm drop to 70mm drop) would require the tracking to be done again I should think.
Search for some topics in this forum and also have a look at maybe some other car forums to see what they have to say on them. Just take a while to look through the posts, induction kits/cold air feeds have been mentioned so often in this forum in the past.
From my (somewhat limited)...
The dash on the mark 1s is a piece of piss to take out. Just take off the top part of the dash, remove some of the steering column shroud and then you can get to the screws that hold in the clocks. Disconnect the cables from the back of the clocks and slide them out. The dash is lit up by bulbs...
The OE airbox uses a butterfly solenoid/valve to close one of the cold air pipes when the engine rpm is low to help low down torque, Ive got an ITG Maxogen kit which is regarded as the best closed induction kit on the market for the 172/182 and I dont think its really helped low down torque...
Not sure mate, Renault just say the front sensors need replacing, I am going there tomorrow to take a look for myself and to also take one of the brackets off of my old shock there. (Dont have two as eugegall has borrowed a shock but not replied to my PMs yet!)
I dont recall them having that bit on, as when we fitted them we wondered where the cable would clip into. Thought Id leave it as its just-a-cable and surely it wouldnt affect my braking.. How wrong we were!
Ok, here is the clip/bracket thing... This is where the cable clips onto...

But the main part of the bracket which sits inside the bottom of the strut where the bolts go looks welded on...
Yeah my lights didnt appear for a few weeks, but they might appear eventually, depends on how hardcore the sensors are I guess!
Just rang KTEC again and they said that the brackets can be taken off the old ones and put onto the new shocks without any fuss. So anyone who hasnt done this I...
My ABS & Service lights have come on and Renault say that the sensors are knackered, and its because Ive got FK coilovers and there is no bracket for the sensor cable to go. Can anyone tell me what they have done if there is no bracket on their FKs, and if there is a bracket, WHY ISNT THERE ONE...

My exhaust is blowing and I cannot get above 28.9mpg, no matter how easy I drive, a blowing exhaust must affect MPG, as the exhaust system isnt going to be very efficient if its got holes in it. Being a renault exhaust I think they build them at the factory with holes in, Im about to get onto my...
Ahh, hello mister rick :)

Very interesting mate, would definitely be good to look at the graphs, also what your power @ the fly was/is now. The kits sits where I thought it may do, looks like its prone to getting hit by stones or debris as you have no arch liner, it gets covered by something that looks like a black sock...
