An extra 20bhp over the 1.2 will be nice for ya Im sure, if you can get a Mark 1 Phase 3 1.4 then get that cus its got nice bits and alloys/spoiler/nice seats from the RSi and a shorter ratio gearbox, 75bhp but quicker to 60 (ok, not so much quicker, like half a second but hey its something)...

I live in Leicester, so you are down the road from me, most meets Ive been to are near Birmingham. Mine is red, when I was looking around for a 172 there were only two red ones, one in Milton Keynes and one in Middlesboro..

Ive got a silenced de-cat and I didnt really notice much change in the noise, exhaust sounds a bit raspier thou, sounds like its blowing but its ok Ive had it checked. Doesnt give you a load of power, it revs more freely like people have said as the engine can chuck out its exhaust gases better...

In a nutshell no, I always check my milage when I take mine in, dont have a GPS thing or anything like that, but this sounds like a good excuse to get one!

The 182 manifold will require you to get an exhaust system that is matched to the manifold, as this is different on the 182 to the 172. I would say that the 182 manifold would be the best bet, unless you can get these custom ones on the cheap for us all ;) If you are getting a de-cat, youre...

That setup didnt look bad, I just think that open IK on Clios are a waste of time unless they are mapped accordingly with an ECU/Chip, no IK will help with the low down torque that the OE airbox & butterfly solenoid has.

My cold air feed goes from the front lower grille (passenger side of grille) up to where the horn is then up to the induction kit.. mine has aircon and everything, so the garage either couldnt be bothered or had their eyes closed.

I dunno, some people have mentioned on here that a de-cat and straight thru exhausts without the cat can lose power on these 2.0 engines on some places. Im considering having my cat put back on, but with a decat pipe it certainly revs more freely...

JPH172s 172 is the Mark 2, so there is a chip available for both mark 1 & mark 2 172s i should think.

I had a go against a Mini Cooper S that the guy said had 230bhp, it was pulling away but not by much, probably 1 or maybe 2 car lengths by 60mph, so for something with supposedly 60 more horses it didnt make me think wow..
