Right i'm a country lane warrior and i'm in a major dilema now. The car is a ph1 172 on eibach sportlines and at the minute i'm really struggling keeping ahead of my mates evo on tight twisty roads. I can't go into the corners as fast and i can't get out of them as quick either.
Now will...
I'm still in two minds as to do the ph1, i was just saying that the evo's aren't that expensive to run as people are under the impression they are silly expensive but they are not all that bad.
I'm doing suspension, brakes and lsd before charging it though.
Evo's are not even that expensive to run. Rexe got a cambelt and balancer belt, oilchange, plugs and ayc fluid change for £250. ayc only needs doing every 9000 miles and a mini service is only about £90. You are are going to have to do far more oil changes than standard on a turbo/supercharged...
yeah that sounds ok. I may even come in the vectra to show that diesel barges can can keep up with the clios even on the twisties. The vectra has already done the triangle about four times now. Just need to see if i've got my brakes done if not i'll use the clio.
Drive shafts are expensive i paid £250 for the pair. the top gear box mount is under the battery i think its 17mm bolts there should be four. Top mounts are a common problem and so are dogbone mounts so try these first as they are cheapest.
What mileage is the car? i can't imagine it being...
I love mini's i just can't justify paying the over inflated prices for them. Even with my brother working for them as a sales man they are still silly expensive for a decent spec.
I've got cheapish coilovers on the vectra ( supersport by spax) and they ride very well too. Cheap suspension can be good but it really all depends on what you want the car for. My clio is used solely for b-roads blasting so i wouldn't go fitting these but for a car that spends the majority of...
Unless the scooby is silly power you'll love the clio. My mate bought an impreza after having a 172 and got rid after five months as the impreza wasn't that much fun or that quick (his was a wrx) He soon moved on to an evo. You'll love the clio.
Ever since rexe on here got his i've really gone off them. His lasted 6months before he got rid and changed for an evo. Impreza's are totally overated. Evo's are better in every way.
sell it and buy a nice 330d saves putting loads of money into a clio. Or just drive round as it is. I don't see the point of putting money into cars as its just lost money.
I thought it would do it but i'll probably never see that ever again. My average is around 50mpg which considering the size and power is not bad at all.
