How long before it goes pop?

Does the clutch work OK? If so, just do the whole journey in 2nd. I had to get mine home from Goodwood (10 miles) then across to Rentech for repair (35 miles) while it was stuck in second...only I didn't have the luxury of a clutch. Made my ears bleed but apart from that was manageable!

Worst car trends/mods of recent times..

Yup. Except Silvervision bulbs apparently. :rasp:

Good point. What aren't lexus lights cool then? They get rid of that crap red lense look at the back after all!

Worst car trends/mods of recent times..

No. I'm saying that the tiniest smidgen of orange on each corner really makes no difference at all in my eyes as to how a car looks. What about the red lenses on the rear? Why don't people get rid of that as well? Does that make a car look s*it?
  5. Tighten My Nuts

Worst car trends/mods of recent times..

My point...you missed it completely. A car has orange lights on all four corners...it has to by law. So why is it deemed so wrong for them to look orange when they're not illuminated? Because the masses say so? Sheep.

    Cleaned the M3 Evo.

I love it. Proper stealthy motor. Give it a chrome grill and 99.9 % of the public would never know it was so capable/quick.

I forgot to add; Silvervision bulbs If having your orange lights appearing orange is such a crime, why not go the whole hog and do the red brake/stop lights too?
  8. Tighten My Nuts

Worst car trends/mods of recent times..

I thought I was the only one who knew how to use them! As above, if you can't see any cars behind you, use your rear fogs. If you can, turn the fuc*er off!

    Finally Getting A 200...!!!

That's odd seeing as the website lists them as a Clio Renaultsport 200 as does the promotional material and brochures.

The soft toy hanging from the rear tow eye. 'It's individual init blud!' Of course it is, that's why you and every single one of your group has exactly the same thing LOL

172 CUP - pistonheads (anybody know it?)

Shame the wheels have been refurbed amphasite...does not work imo. Apart from that looks nice enough.

Best Motoring: Hot hatch battle (Clio 200)

    All depends on Goodwood...hopefully soon.

Best Motoring: Hot hatch battle (Clio 200)

    I feel slightly smug.

    Gaming Headphones - XB360?

I've had my X41s for a few months now. As above, sound detail, sense of atmosphere and ability to place distance and direction is epic. Fabric earpieces are comfortable, and weight wise, so long as you get them adjusted just so, I can easily forget that I'm wearing them.

    Clio 200 Storm Grey Pictures

£70 for a gear knob? Serious? Looks stunning btw.
  16. Tighten My Nuts

    Cheap 200 anyone?

Apart from the two completely different door mirrors you mean?

    200 Raider v 5GT Turbo

This x100. How does blue paint and wheels make an existing car achieve OMG legend status?
  18. Tighten My Nuts

    Heel & toe shifting

LOL at France! It's not really the track I need to work on, more building the confidence to extract more from the car. It's been quite a while since I had any tuition, and the last one was all about the track...wasn't interested in helping me push a little more. You'd of course be more...
  19. Tighten My Nuts

    Heel & toe shifting

I want some of this free tuition you seem to be handing out! Expenses for a round trip for you to Goodwood?
  20. Tighten My Nuts

    Heel & toe shifting

    Yeah but you're rubbish.
  21. Tighten My Nuts

    Heel & toe shifting

We're on the same page then LOL. I don't think I could EVER downshift without rev-matching either on or off the brakes. Whenever I watch footage of people doing it...I just wince/cringe and think of the clutch!
  22. Tighten My Nuts

    Heel & toe shifting

I understand what you're saying. I've not said anywhere that it's about shaving tenths off lap times or exiting a turn 1mph faster have I? To me it's about smoothness, balance, and most importantly as I keep my cars for a loooooong time, mechanical sympathy.
  23. Tighten My Nuts

    Heel & toe shifting

Of course downshifts on track are when on the brakes...but the flaw in your argument chip is that you assume you only ever downshift while threshold braking...i.e. as hard as is physically possible. That is so not the case in my experience. Take St. Marys at Goodwood for example, a fast right...

    172 Cup finally finished!

Cups never came with engine covers, far too heavy!

    172 Cup finally finished!

    That is lovely. Really nice.
  26. Tighten My Nuts

    200 Raider v 5GT Turbo

But there are always people prepared to pay a premium for a Renaultsport with some odd paint and questionable extras. On that basis, they've got it bang on.
  27. Tighten My Nuts

    Heel & toe shifting

Do not understand your question...that's exactly what I am doing. Edit: ignore me. To Joe, as above practice simple rev matching first, forget about being on the brake while you do it.
  28. Tighten My Nuts

    Cheap 200 anyone?

FLOL at the attention to detail on the rebuild. Original door mirror on the passenger side, yet one from a 197 fitted on the driver's side...do not match.
  29. Tighten My Nuts

    Heel & toe shifting

LOL Granted it is not necessary to heel & toe on the road, but on track your car will thank you for it on every single down shift. On the road, simple rev matching will achieve the same thing.
