Quite a drive home from work today, 6 miles and I pass 3 ladies driving 172/182s.
Firstly the Cup I spotted yesterday morning, seen again today near Virgin Mobile, reg ending HBG I think. Really wasn't playing the "hello fellow Cup driver" game though much to my dismay.
Then 20 seconds...
A new one has invaded my territory...Young lady driving past McDonalds/Focus this morning about 8:30am, didn't seem to interested in looking at me or waving so I kept my hands down! Wasn't the usual MILF Cup that gets driven around here.
More female Cup owners than male around here now.
Very entertaining in Cheddar this evening, some very close and enjoyable racing.
Here are a few pics, impossible to get good karting shots as it was far too dark on the track, but I got a few betwen races...
and a couple of pics of the results...
It's all change for me and I'm finally letting the Panasonic FZ20 go. After 18 months I've managed nearly 50,000 photos and it's never missed a beat. £500 spent overall and I had huge range (more than I ever needed, from very wide angle through to about 600mm), and a very very good Macro...
Had a very enjoyable day at CC today, big grids and some extremely close racing, a few of my favourite pics...
And not my own pic but this was one of the funniest things I've seen at a race circuit, made one hell of a mess...
This one from...
A good read in this months Top Gear: V6 Buyers Guide, a nice full 3 pages of stuff to have a look through.
Number 272 (Silver Mk1) is featured, looks absolutely stunning. They sourced the car from http://www.cliov6ownersclub.com/ which I didn't even know existed, bloody hard to read too...
Fantastic to watch, on-board footage of Tony Dolley flipping his 206 GTi in the Castle Combe Saloon Car Championship...

Quite a car park this evening, came for a wedding reception at the hotel, pulled up in the car park and aside from several genuine rally cars sat in the car park (a strange site if ever I saw one) including a gorgeous works Fiesta ST there were a few Clios in the vicinity...
Silver 172
Black...
Enjoyed a very very wet day at Castle Combe today, don't think I've ever got that wet (was in shorts + t-shirt due to the BBC Weather's prediction of "sun" today!), some stunning cars on show and on track. Sadly I couldn't stay all day so didn't really see any of the paddock and managed to miss...
Best looking Clio I've ever seen? Possibly. I never even knew the Mk1 came in this colour, looks awesome. Is it pretty rare?
(pics not mine btw, passed on to me recently)
There was a Blue Mk1 V6 Clio at the Castle Combe trackday today. Looked kind of like Mondial Blue in the sun but could have been Lliad I guess, awesome either way.
Never seen a Blue MK1 before, are they pretty rare?
Ok, an obvious thread but we need to christen the new forum, camera/lens info is always helpful too...
My top 3:
All Panasonic FZ20, I'm a bit of a panning lover hence 2/3 the pics I've chosen...
FF1600 CC Championship, this came 3rd in a Castle Combe photography competition...
Had an awesome day at Haynes Motor Museum today, great little twisty circuit which was really fun to fly around. Good bunch of people as always and the weather was spot on.
Anyways, 100 pictures now uploaded and available full size here...http://chrisharrison.smugmug.com/gallery/1645102...
After the initial rush to get some pictures up I left these for a while, went back and had a good sort through and edit tonight though and this is what I came up with. Not much track stuff as it was all too far away for many decent shots...
[Pansonic FZ20]
I found out the pixel size of my phone and created some wallpapers, connected my phone up (Sony Ericsson W810i) and stuck the JPEGs in the pictures folder where my phone pics are stored.
Even though they are there (on the memory card) when I look on the phone they are nowhere to be seen...
A while back I downloaded a load of tracks from MSN Music, now I have a Sony-Ericsson W810i Walkman phone and wanted to transfer my tracks over to it. About half transferred over fine and the rest just refused to move.
On closer inspection all the tracks that won't budge have "Protected: Yes"...
My so-far so-good wonderful Clio Cup has now seen 2.5 years service (registered Dec 23rd 2003) and covered a fairly easy going 24,000 miles. Everything was fine when I set off for the beach this morning etc etc etc, return to the car (thankfully mostly in the shade) and everything is still fine...
This pic is a bit dark as I didn't want to use flash, but I will get a better one when its up on the wall...
Taken from this (and added a border...)
Love it, quality is incredible considering I have a 5mp camera and that shot was taken from 50 metres or so away, no pixelation or...
Although I love my FZ20 dearly and could never part with it, I'm getting to that point where I'm finding my ideas and potential compositions seriously limited by my equipment. I know a photographer should never blame his tools, but I think I have grounds to argue that point!
Nailed the...
Not sure what is going on at the moment, spotted several Cups here and elsewhere for silly prices (generally, £6k for 3yrs old and <30k on them) which just don't seem to be selling at all.
Yet only a couple of months ago I had mine up for £7750 (53, 24k so not much different) and was...
Constantly tidying up pics and trying new things and I've finally got around to some of the airfield pictures (had well over 1000 to go through so it was always going to take some time, a few of these go back to October 05!)
Anyhows...only changes from original image are hours of messing with...
Classic/Sports Car trackday at Castle Combe today, strangely quiet in terms of spectators but the track action was fun as always.
Took the opportunity to have a play with the settings a bit and vary my usual technique, pretty happy but it was sooooo hot and sunny that it was a nightmare to...
Decided to have a bit of an economy drive this week, over my normal 300 mile driving week (no motorways, some town driving and lots of b-roads) I get around 34mpg.
This past week, again about 300 miles...
Quality stuff, did a quick calculation and it matches up with actual petrol...
Sooooooo looking forward to this one, a reason to dig my PS2 out again after several months of neglect. Shipped yesterday so all being well it will arrive tomorrow for post-World Cup multiplayer mayhem.
Tried the PC demo and I'm amazed that they have pretty much retained the original fast...
Popped to Tesco tonight during the siege on this particular town (not sure if anyone saw the news, someone went on a random shooting spree with an air-rifle or something), anyhows, 3 Cups all parked up in the car park including mine! Not sure what the chances of that are.
Managed to put a...
Spotted JamesRich catching some seriously big flies on Monday morning, near Virgin in Trowbridge around 8:25am.
The usual spot of the Red Ph1 172 (I need to flyer that car, want to meet them and take pictures of the best looking Clio I've ever seen!), and a Silver Mk1 V6 last Thursday morning...
