Yer my dads got all the crane air compressor and everything its just the time its going to take to wack it in, plus the cars only going to be worth about £600 now.
Im looking at all the options, going to wait until my dad can have a look at it, then weigh everything up, a new 1.2 engine is around £200, 1.6 is £250 but then ill need all new brakes ecu etc. and then theres the option of buying a full car, but then ive got to take the engine out myself so...
I dont mind doing the head gasket but im rather worried that its almost like the pistons have locked up, ill take the head off, if its obvious that its knackered ill get a new one if its more than 200 to fix this hydro locking thing might as well get a new engine.
The body work is to good to just scrap it with only the tiniest bit of rust, i feel like dropping a 1.6 in it but not sure how documents and insurance stands after that. Can get a 1.6 for £200 just the time it will take to put it in, to do a full engine rebuild on mine would bout £400 so costs...
So, after nearly a year i think my pride and joy has about taken its last breathe, as of four days ago it was a fine specimen of an un-modified standard clio. 3 days ago it failed its MOT with more failures than advisories. However i was still going to persevere and get it through with a not so...
Is this something that can be fixed or have i got to get another engine do ya reckon, thing is, the cars only worth 600 if that and has just failed the MOT, had it booked in for a £100 worth of stuff, think its gonna be a bit more after todays shenanigans.
No lark mayo stuff however there is oil round where the gasket is so probably that, then i thought cam belt, but then i dont think it would even try to turn over, and to settle that its still there and intact, then starter motor, i really dont have a clue and the list is endless
So i was coming round a roundabout at a steady speed, all of a sudden loss of power then tries to stall. Managed to roll it to the bottom of my road then started and tons of white smoke came out of the exhaust. I managed to drive it home sounding like a tractor, now it wont start at all , wont...
Did it come standard with colour coded bumpers? mine have stupid looking black strips even though they're classed as colour coded as the bottom bit is.
Yer no need for new disks at all, they can be pressed out. the bearings are around £15 and did it myself but bit tricky, garages want about £70-80 usually though :(
So, the other day when it was sunny I decided to spend a few hours with 2 mirofibres and some AG Super Resin and heres the result. took sooo long I ended up getting tan lines anywho, its had a few alterations since I last put some pics up so..
On the look out for some dual optics, alloys and...
Quick Update, went to my local scrappy the other day and found a beaten up ph2, so I got a few bits.
Ph2 Side strips, tidies up the sides a bit.
inside door trim - looks better than the grey
new number plate light
and a new rear view mirror for the grand total of £20 not bad.
and as I thought...
The little panel next to your steering wheel where the headlight level switch is, get a credit card under the bottom edge and pull the whole little panel out, its not hard to do. Then you should have a blank wire with a black plastic thing on the end (resistor). Give it a wiggle / pull it off...
i don't have the stalk, I bought fogs with only the wire that joins then together and then bought the RING wiring kit from motorworld the instructions are in there haven't got a clue how to do the stalk I think I mentioned how to do the wiring kit in this thread, I had to drill through my...
when i was doing my fog lights i accidentally pulled the resistor off the blanked dimmer switch plug and it did exactly how you described, might have something to do with your dimmer switch
EDIT --
As soon as i put the resistor back on it worked, (i went on to get a dimmer switch and worked...
Hi, I've had the car for around 7 months and id say for 50% the sunroof rattles and creeks as i'm driving along, i myself have blocked it out my ears but my mates keep saying whats that noise.
Does anyone have a solution to this, I've tried putting plumbers tape round the catches but don't...
Hi, im looking at getting a skoda splitter for my ph1 after hitting a solid block of snow the other day :(, does anyone have any pictures of a standard ph1 with one on as i dont wont it to look wierd. Thanks
Hi, im thinking about getting that exact exhaust, does it sound quite nice also have you had any problems with it, i.e too loud lol. thanks
does it sit under the bumper without modifing it?
My insurance won't let me declare or have any modifications I'm just going to wait till it ends I've got a quote for 750 with lowing, exhaust, colour coded, spoiler, fogs, alloys etc all declared at 21 it's not worth the risk of them not paying out
Liking the way it looks atm, taken the yellow tint off the fogs (got a bit bored and wanted a clean look) and bought some wind deflectors that i won on ebay for £15 well chuffed.
