Id really take the top dash off, takes about half an hour the first time, roughly 10 screws, the previous owner may have put a steering control cable in with an after market stereo and not put the red plug back into the clock.
although some genuine stereos dont work across models - a scenic...
Ok, so i was washing my car the other and my keys slid off where i left them straight into the bucket of water, i whipped them out straight away and open it up to dry, however there was no water in it what so ever.
Now, im not sure if these problems have anything to do with it but here goes...
thanks, ive got a few plans in the next few weeks it should change a bit. I'm thinking black on blue tinting lights and i have a thing for slightly tinted windows so that might happen.
Hi, make sure the small square cable/s or the red if its there, are in properly as that's the cable to the screen, other than that it may have come out of the clock, but that's a dashboard off job which is really easy and there's a guide on here for taking it off.
Although to enter the code, on...
Hi, title pretty much says it all, I recently repaired my head gasket (didn't skim it) and ever since it very occasionally judders but its quite a big judder, also took 4 attempts this morning to start it. It's fully serviced, new coolant, spark plugs, oil, oil filter also new fuel line, head...
So, I'm looking to lower my car in the coming months. I've done this photoshop and i'd quite like it to be around this height, is this roughly 60mm, as i cant really have anything more than 40 to get on my drive (it's rasied at the end and hard to get onto the road)
Passed its MOT today after miserably spending about £250 to get it moving. Although my advisories were 1. A front tyre slightly worn and the other my AIR FRESHENERS were on the mirror, one of two which had been put on there by the garage who had just fixed this morning.
So after a nearly a year I decided to take the plunge and get some dual optics for just £25 from a scrap yard, just need a slight bit of restoring as the car had been sitting there for a good year or two (got the 3M kit on order), certainly tidies up the front end and should be easy enough to...
Well other than the mobility reasons, I just thought it was valid due to the fact you can go on mopeds and stuff but other than that, 17 to drive cars on the roads.
The belts only done around 15k so its about time it should be done but not urgent, we were a bit cautious that it might affect the timing so just left it for now, it shall be done so shouldn't be a problem.
I know what your saying, but i'd only been to the shop and back and was only doing >10mph when it went, it wasnt like I was doing 70mph i.e enough for it to warp/ overheat anything, I was literally going round a roundabout when it happened, anyway if it goes, it goes.
Right, as far as the skimming goes, my dad cleaned it all up it really wasn't that bad at all, I did get the belts but there going back as we found it was a bit risky doing it ourselves tbh they'll get done soon by a garage.
Ok, so i hate it when threads are half finished so i thought id add this so if anyone in the future has this problem they know whats wrong.
It was indeed the head gasket that went, it took a day to do it and cost around £80 - £100 for the gasket set, oil, oil filter, coolant etc. the engine is...
Right where do i start haha...
I litterally dont have any money, thats not like ... oh i dont have any money but ill buy smaller bits for it. I actually dont have any money and am trying to fix my head gasket.
The wheels ... I just want to drive it at the minute i dont care about the trims...
yep we are doing, should all be done by the end of the weekend, all the parts and gaskets have come. Got everything apart just got to do the cambelt and sort the gasket out. :)
I literally used any old black screw, put a cable on the screw really tight, then screwed the screw into the cable tie. Its so much easier than using bolts, also if you can find the original style one they use a clip but i cant remember what they're called.
Ok so after fathering that it is indeed the head gasket that has blown, me and my dad plan to get it done ourselves after the guy in the garage basically laughed and said its not worth it :headno: (they want £600 as if), IM NOT SCRAPPING MY BABY, ive been waiting all year for CSS, bought the...
I cant go into halfrauds or any car shop for that matter and not buy something, and when they have 3 for 2 I have to limit myself, ive been known to come out with buckets, squeegees and 2 1ltr bottles of auto glym before now. Not because i need them just because there on offer and have...
I dont no what the hell is going on with this engine, its gone from not even turning over and juddering to starting up fine and then spluttering, at least its a start could be just a head gasket after all. although oil looks fine, might be because i was only doing bout 10mph when it happened i...
