Looks like a really nice job you've done there! What's the finish like?
Do you need any special equipment to do this or can you buy the paint in some sort of spray can? Where did you get yours from?
I have a black valver and i'd like to spray the handles, mirror surrounds, and the standard...
I have no idea whatsoever but my best guess would be a sensor or something!
Wouldn't mind knowing what it is though as my valver chugs a bit sometimes when you start it, then eventually evens out. I imagine it's some sort of sensor or something on its way out that causes that but like i said i...
Hi all,
I've had my engine in my MK1 clio rebuilt recently and a strange chirping/scraping noise has started coming from the engine whenever i take my foot of the accelerator, or whenever i reverse. The noise seems to be due to the engine moving.
I put my handbrake on and put the car into...
Agreed!
Unfortunately my Mk1 doesn't have air-con, but ah well, i rarely drive on motorways anyway. I prefer having my windows wide open in the summer whilst driving round town rather than having air conditioning on so i don't really mind. :)
Interesting!
Not sure if they come like that as standard myself but perhaps thats what someone told the guy that put up the advert?
Who knows, still funny though.
Haha that's funny - i found myself in the same mess. I bought some JBL components for £100 last summer but never got round to fitting them properly. I got the mid driver in my door as that was easy to fit and connected that up to the x-over in the boot, which was then connected to my amp. I...
My friend had the same problem with Direct Line on his 182 - they suck! He changed over to Green Light insurance as they insure cheaply on a 182 and i believe they give discount to ClioSport members!
I've earthed my system to the screw that holds the right hand rear light on! I just scraped the paint away and earthed it there. Seems to work ok!
I used 4 gauge power cables for earth and to the batt, but then i use 2 gauge to go to all the amps. 4 gauge is just too big!
Throw a match in the puddle as you drive past and hope it was petrol and hope there was a solid line of the stuff right up to his car? :D
That's what chavs deserve..
19 with 0 NCB, clean license, driving for under a year when i took out the policy, on a heavily modified valver, Third Party Fire & Theft cover, cost me £2000.00 with Adrian Flux. Cheapest i could find..
Simple solution, don't buy renault! lol
My valver rattles a fair bit, mostly from the boot though when you're stood outside with the bass booming away. It's to be expected though really from such an old car.
Heard loads about newer clios rattling too... eek!
Something to do with a temperature sensor perhaps? Telling the ECU the engine is REALLY cold so it revs the b*llocks off it to warm it up?
Dunno really, don't know much about engines!
My dad bought one of these and he said it really struggled to receive a signal, so he gave it to me to take a look. Tried everything, using the 'Factory Reset' option from the menu, turning off and back on again, but it wouldn't connect. I looked at the GPS bar graph and i could see there were...
If you want to run cables into your doors then just undo the two silver screws that hold the connector block in place and you will be able to remove it. Then just pierce a hole in the rubber cover on the door and you'll be able to insert cables into your door.
If you remove the plastic trim...
I think it just depends on the type of wheels that are on the car..
I like white wheels on black cars but i have to say those white alloys dont really go too well with the car.
I've got some white 17's on my valver and they seem to go quite well with it..
like it! looks like you have the same year valver as one of mine! Is that a '94 valver?
I've got a '94 and a '96 valver, they both have slightly different dashes..
The '96 valver is slower than the '94 valver... weird!
I've heard some rubbish 6x9's but i have 3-Way JBL 6x9's on my parcel shelf running off a powerful amp just delivering mid/high frequencies, and they are stupidly loud and the quality of them is amazing. My car was parked up in a car park and the boot was open and i had the system on pretty...
I think the reason the other guy was quoted £800 is because (correct me if i am wrong) he has a 1.8 16v clio, whereas you have a 1.4 8v clio.
I've never seen a 1.4 lump but i know working on a valver will be more expensive as the engines are a lot bigger and more difficult to get out..
£300...
The reason you don't get a great deal of bass is because the speakers are not contained within an enclosure unlike the speakers in the front doors of your car. The door pods will give really good acoustic performance as with most newer cars these days, and they are quite close to your legs/feet...
My valver is pretty low as well, I'll see if i can sort out a pic..
EDIT: You can't really tell in the pics but the wheels do go up into the arches quite a bit.
My other valver isn't quite as low but it's still low..
