My ebay Bluetooth OBD2 reader doesn't pick up any faults stored in my ECU, yet my airbag light is on? Are airbag codes like ABS code, in that they are hidden away and unreadable without a CLIP?
My centre exhaust mount is broke again! Before I chuck another flimsy Renault one on again (this will be the 3rd in 4 years), are there any alternatives, preferably solid and not liable to splitting. I wrapped my last one in exhaust wrap and metal cable ties but the saggy exhaust still managed...
I've got a 15 quid wheel from ebay so will fit it and pass with that.
It does make a mockery of the MOT process that its so much up to the tester. There were loads of advisories on my last MOT that aren't on this one, yet I havent fixed them.
Also, fitting a cage and harnesses does not...
The "fitted as original equipment" bit is new. Added in the last 12 months (I think August last year).
Most other things don't have the "if it was there when it was new" clause, I.e. fog lights and washers, etc.
The joke of it all is, the resisters mean the light is off fine, so I'm going...
So KwikFits interpretation of the MOT rules means after market wheels are a fail as the originally fitted airbag is missing.
What's my options. Buy an original wheel and airbag and fit for the MOT? Or is there a presidence I can use?
He's gonna finish the MOT, but its a fail regardless.
I've done wing mirror covers in Plastidip and they are fine. I wouldn't want to use it on anything larger than small trim pieces though, especially not a whole car!
Cheers guys.
Confirms that I am indeed missing them on both sides! 8 track days and 30k road miles and my wheels haven't fallen off though, so clearly not the major issue people think they are!
I will need to grab some, and also some replacement 30mm hub nuts. Where is best to get them from?
Rear is stock camber (can't remember what the figures are but it was within the green for the manufacturers defaults when it was last aligned).
I run 195 tyres. A 15mm with camber will bring the top of the tyres in to about the same distance as a flat 10mm, won't it?
Where should I measure for...
I've finally found the source of the annoying rattle on my Hero3. Its the WIFI button! Its get just enough movement in it to rattle about.
Any suggestions for silencing it?
I have Cup shocks and Sportline springs on my 172 and plan to get some spacers. A couple of questions regarding the rears;
Do I go 10mm or 15mm? Will there be rubbing issues with either? I'm using OZ F1 wheels from a phase 1.
Do I get camber? I've got a couple of degrees up front, but not sure...
Cheers.
Its a shame there's little gains other than noise to be had, but all credit to Renault for making an air feed that's pretty well optimized.
I think I will stick with the paper filters, unless there's a cheap foam panel filter about.
