Because im 6f 2 and drive long distances at the weekends. An example being a recent return trip to Bordeaux, belive me, If I have been in the clio theres no way I could have walked after 7hrs and 500+ miles driving.
However i do agree that its nice for a blast to Sainsburys to get the shopping.
Must admit that after 6 months and 7k I have already bought an extra car, because I find the 172 rather inpractical and uncomfatble for long distance driving.
The replacement - a 406 3.0 v6 Coupe ! I belive for the money that its one of the best looking cars around, plus the 24v V6 sounds...
Your right there, the Astra coupe is a nasty looking car that took me by surprise, it was only as traffic slowed us down that I saw the Turbo badge !

And they rekcon that the Cup is basic ! ha these boys havent lived with the 80s Hot hatches !!!!!!!
Im old now (28) and need the comforts, however its nice to thrash a classic now and then, sometimes you even surprise the newuns !!!

I come here for constructive information and all I ever here is the cups better than the 172, the mk1 is better than the mk2, the mk2 is better than the mk1.

mine feels good after 5500. I got the car in october, ran her in nicely and she goes like rocket now.
Tried unleaded fuel once and she ran like a dog, havent user Optimax yet...
No problems yet, but rember its french !! I have loads of Citroens and it feels better made then all of them...
Turn on the ignition but dont startup. Turn on/off the headlights twice. Should get an acknowledgement beep. Turn off ignition then startup as normal then hey presto your blue thingies should bust into life (if below the light threshold) . Disabling is the same proceedure.
