    Assetto Corsa Competizione

With my new-found liking for racing sims recently, I decided to opt for Assetto Corsa Competizione on the PC. As you'd expect, its from the same team that brought out Assetto Corsa, but focuses solely on the Blancpain GT series. https://www.assettocorsa.net/competizione/ That in itself is a...

    I'll take that - close enough! :P

    Rear shocks gone...wet!

Yep - definitely had it that! I think iirc, you need a 17mm socket for that bolt. Could be wrong be I recall it being a weird size when I did mine a good number of years back.

    Rear shocks gone...wet!

As per @DrR above - very easy to replace yourself with a socket set and a jack. MUCH easier than the fronts anyway.

The Power PC Thread [f*ck off consoles]

Meh - my replacement A50 PU rod idea didn't exactly go according to plan. Stripped the brake pedal setup again last night to insert the new load cell. Typically, the cable on the new load cell itself was about an inch too short, we then required drilling a feeder hole through the base plate...

Nice! I found the throttle quite subtle in difference - but the brake was night & day difference. Iirc, the cylinders that the spring fall into are all the same diameter. There would be nothing stopping you in putting the stiffer spring into the throttle, I guess?

    Lets Talk Printers?

I remember when I first got into IT in the late 90s and the media costs of those dye sub printers was eye-watering. No doubt the print quality and end results are second-to-none - but so expensive.

    Clios in Old EVO Magazine

My 182 was £12.2k through Lloyds-TSB Car Finance. Picked it up from Renault Manchester. Renault Manchester had the same car themselves for sale at £16k. Lol.

    Clios in Old EVO Magazine

I think back-dating them makes the cost seem very prohibitive! I didn't get the first edition so can't comment on that - but the other two have been really worth it. One of those Sunday afternoon things to flick through and read if you've got a bit of time to kill. I was a little concerned that...

    Clios in Old EVO Magazine

Same here. I strangely find that my mind wanders when reading stuff in electronic form. I noticed this first when I got a Kindle - on which I've never finished a book, yet could easily read through a printed equivalent. The last printed car magazine I've bought has been two editions of The Road...

The Gaming Thread (General Gaming Jibba Jabba)

Hated the pointless number chasing of weapons in the first game. Number chasing existed in the second title, but not as obvious as in the first game, I found. As with the first game, by far and away the most enjoyable part of it was the first 15-20 minutes. Still seems a silly...

[Aussie Content] Victorian Alps Road Trip

Lol - the first question that came to mind for me as well! Cracking photos - nice mash-up of cars there. Australia is big on the rotary market from what I gather?

Looks like the brake pedal has gone back to being a lottery when you need it. Nothing, nothing, 40% - wham 100%. Or worse - downshifting to a corner and just nothing coming back from the middle pedal. Hello Mr. Barrier. So.... took a punt on a replacement load cell through eBay (less than a...

XBOX App on Windows 10 - Weird connection issues

For a company the size of Microsoft - it is shockingly bad. That said, I always thought that the PlayStation UI pissed all over the XBox one as well.

182 loud bang, grinding in gear and no movement.....

Old thread bump - but adding my comment here for reference. Mine did exactly the same as the above - both the OPs comments and those of Whetty above. Literally pulling out of a junction in 1st when it went - was the driver's side driveshaft that munched itself.

    Gear grinding

They are known as a weaker point on the RS's - but my 182 gearbox has only started sounding noisy after 165k miles. A lot will come down to how it has been driven in the past and of course, maintenance.

It can be a bit of a ballache to get setup right! In all honesty, I'm impressed at the flexibility of most modern games to cope with a whole range of inputs - even when the likes of Assetto are getting on in their years. I've currently got a Logitech G13 gameboard connected, an XBox One...

How does that work then - bit puzzled on that? Wouldn't it still need a measurement recording the spring depression or load cell resistance - regardless of floor mounting or from up above the pedal? I know that in Assetto, the default calibration of the pedals shows the recording at 100% (as...

Yep - worked fine for me. Assetto was a little weird in that the clutch was greyed out so I couldn't complete the calibration of all the other settings. Turns out that there was a setting applied for 'Automatic Clutch' that has to be disabled before you can assign it. In Assetto, you get the...

Finished the Logitech/Fanatec hybrid eventually. It's been a bit of a trial of patience, but got there in the end. The pedal base is now connected to the frame floor in no less than ten places - so that fecker isn't moving at all - even under my size 10s. The main reason for doing so was having...

    Custom build PC issues

So, the ClubSport USB adapter (https://fanatec.com/eu-en/accessories/pedal-accessories/clubsport-usb-adapter) arrived yesterday and I downloaded the driver from Fanatec's website. My nephew's Fanatec wheel actually did start to behave like it had a PAS issue. When 'warmed up' after thirty minutes or so, the belt would randomly slip under cornering, as if the PAS pressure on real car wasn't consistent. As a simulator for what could go wrong with your car - it was...
