I've got full 172 engine and running gear and was considering doing the same thing. the only thing is that with ph1 172's coming in as low as £1500 now i don't know if its really worth the hassle.
i'll be watching this thread to see how it goes, you never know i may end up doing it after all
originally mine was doing this but when i changed the drive shafts, engine/ gearbox mounts i did the gearbox oil as well. when it was all back together the shifting into third was fine. i actually presumed it was the mounts that solved the problem but it may have been changing the gear box oil.
I need to remove the sideskirts from my 172 i thought they would just be held on by torx screws but it looks like they are riveted on. How do i get them off?
i was seeing a girl from wales so every weekend i got to go round all the backroads of wales. i found some amazing roads, i managed to rack up 4000 miles in 6 weeks mostly flying round small b-roads :) i think i had more fun finding roads than seeing her lol
I don't think its managed to get it to below 8 seconds to sixty even with the box. its a lot better in gear though now. Its not slow but i'm comparing it to a stripped out 172 so its hardly fair on the car
don't do it they are shite!!!! i had them on my corsa i couldn't do over 60 mph as it would jump off the ground if i hit a bump. there is no damping it is like riding on a pogo stick. save up and get some proper stuff
the ride is very harsh too
Anyone want this car for a 182 i can't cope with no revs any longer. oh its got a tuning box now so roughly 190bhp and 300ft lb of torque. cheap tax and insurance and 50 mpg not driving like a girl
